Still living in the past I see...

No, just not sure why you want to be underdogs and not the dominant team. It seems kinda, well, retarded.

Only reason we would be considered under dogs would be Jesus. Take him out of your line up, we kick your pitiful a$$ every day of the week!

But he is in the lineup for 9 more years. Take JG and SM ( because they eaual Mcdavid) out of your lineup and alot of teams beat you night in and night out.

Seems like somebody needs a trip to Thailand. Never said I wanted to be the underdog. Said I was fine with it.

Be a better troll.

Really?? A lot more? I don't think he could possibly get any more. He's the best player in the world.

It's almost like Crosby retired and I missed the announcement

Sick of oilers fans, you finally beat the flames one season and it's non stop about how good your team is

Settle down

100x better then you would be without yours

You got half your cap in 4 players and only one of them is worth it

Ummm....we beat you 4/4 times....but trust me, beating the Flames is not the measuring stick we use to gauge whether we're great or not.

You beat us 4/4 times... For the first time in 31 years. Flames have swept the Oilers numerous times in that timeframe. Congrats on doing it once though.

Probably a good thing you don't use us as a measuring stick. Would hate for you guys to feel as inferior as you are. You should probably be using a team like Vancouver. They'll make you feel great about yourselves.

What happened the last 5 years

So you have a better goalie (which is questionable)
And a better centre other then that flames are better. Just wait till you can't resign that "top" goalie

Good thing you got a good goaltending prospect... oh wait that's the flames

We had an excellent season, sweeping the Flames was nice, but it wasnt the icing on the cake.
You can be as proud as you like about your regular season all time record against the Oilers, if you want to live in the past, we got your asses beat there too, where it counts the most.

Hardly. We hated being the pooptiest team in the league, tanking, drafting 1st overall,etc...but we had to tell ourselves there would be a pay off eventually, and if you think being better than Calgary was the summit, youve seriously misjudged us . Its not the summit, merely a stepping stone.

My Offer, Oliver Kylington and John Gillies and Dillon Dube.

- Yeah...Baby

If that's all Sakic was looking for, Duchene would have been traded months ago. Gilles has pretty much no trade value right now. Unlike Flames fans, other GMs will have paid attention to what Gilles has looked like since he turned pro. The Flames are far better off holding on to Gilles and hoping he figures things out than they would be trying to trade him after the season he had last year.

I disagree with you on this. I like any fan, GMs look at prospects for more than just one season and their #'s they look at the potential from a body of work over a whole development path. Gillies imo would be equivalent to a 2nd round pick at least or another high potential prospect.

Last season is the past as well. Right? You start with "We had"?

Nice trolling though. Seriously, I think you're getting on track. It's kind of funny that you get a reaction from the same 4-6 people on here every couple days.

You actually think that Smith...Mike Smith, is in the same tier as Talbot...WoW!!!

Some fans boggle my mind

Talbot deserved the Vezina last year.

That said: Smith was the only reason the Coyotes won some quite a few games last season that they had no business winning. Handled the Oilers pretty well and choked out LA and the Ducks, among others, during the stretch when the team really didn't look good at all.

Hah it's been a frustrating offseason for supporters of the Mike Smith trade. I thought he was sub-par until last year. He took over games and changed my mind. A 10 year opinion changed.

Still wasn't as good as Talbot. I haven't seen a goalie influence point totals like he has since Kipper.

Most reasonable people valued Fleury at a 2nd, maybe slightly more. Are you saying Gillies has basically the same value as Fleury?

Actually most had MAF rated as a 1strnd pick, or if you're a Pens fan, a top 5 pick. But, I think that would have been a reasonable trade; a proven vet nearing the end of the line (or at least his contract) for a G prospect with a ton of potential. Especially considering Fleury would have been lost for nothing. But the Pens didn't need a G prospect.

I personally think Smith is a bit too inconsistent. He seems to either be playing like superman or playing like garbage. His in the middle or average games seem to be a little lacking compared to his garbage games.

The other thing is you just don't know how many games you will get out of him and how many your backup will need to play. So even if you go by last years numbers are you going to be confident with Lack playing 25 games? I personally think you would have been better off keeping Johnson to cover those games over Lack.

I can give credit where credit is due though and Kipper was the man. One of my favorite goalies during his time.
