Ha! I remember you from the playoff series. The guy who tried to say I didn't know what luck was in perhaps the all-time "best" post in hockeybuzz history.
Thanks for bringing it back up, I appreciate the laugh. - James_Tanner

There's a better chance they'll win the President's Trophy again than they miss the Playoffs. - James_Tanner

James, I have a simple challenge for you. Start a blog with an online poll asking who was the best team in the NHL last year. What do you think the consensus will be?

The Washington Capitals are the NHL version of the 1970s' and 80's NFL, Houston Oilers always a step or two behind, and not able to kick in the door, as OA "Bum" Phillips once said.
Alex Ovechkin aka Earl Campbell, anyone?
lol

I could not give less of a crap about polls or what the general public thinks. Seriously, there's a reason you've never seen me offer up a poll - I hate polls and I am contemptuous of people who post them, participate in them or reference them. |

There you are judging people again.
Step to the plate, man up and let's see who the hockey world thinks is the best team in the league. |

Polls only tell you what the average hockey fan thinks, not what the small percentage of hot shots like you , me and Tanner, lol I like polls for amusement only but some of those voters don't know sfa |

All due respect, Shattenkirk is underrated, if anything. The guy is awesome. - James_Tanner
Yes, I stand corrected. He is one hell of an offensive dman but only average on D and I can't remember the last time he hit anyone with authority. When I get him in a trade I will like him better on my team, If I had him I know he would have been rated much higher and I would have agreed with you, haha |

Speak for yourself. Good because that's what I want to know, what the average hockey fan thinks. To inform Mr Tanner.

Shattenkirk was absolutely invisble in the Pens-Caps series, other than the OT goal. |

James if the best team doesn't win the Cup as you suggest, why do you care if the Caps are no longer the best team on paper? |

It's not a hard question to makes sense of and understand. It goes to your numerous and repeated contradictions. You wrote this in your blog.
"The current roster is not good enough to be the best team in the NHL again, they are screwed for the future, and have no obvious path to improvement."

There's the regular season championship and then there's the Playoff championship.
If the Caps can win one of those two the season is a success. |

It wasn't my question. It was asked by another poster. I just had to explain it to you. There is no real need for you to answer. The point was well made just by the question being asked.
You can always fall back on insults and labeling people. That is the liberal way.
