The Washington Capitals are the NHL version of the 1970s' and 80's NFL, Houston Oilers always a step or two behind, and not able to kick in the door, as OA "Bum" Phillips once said.

Yes, I stand corrected. He is one hell of an offensive dman but only average on D and I can't remember the last time he hit anyone with authority. There's the regular season championship and then there's the Playoff championship.

If the Caps can win one of those two the season is a success.
