He may be a quality defender, but I wouldn't want him on my top pairing. I'd rather have him on my 2nd pairing. I don't want guys on the top pairing playing 20+ minutes a night not putting up points.

Garbage trade man. Kessel means more to us than rnh ever would and a pick from edmonton now really isn't that much.
- rbaurle51

I'm just replying to the post that we don't have anything the Oil would want.

No way would I do that trade, it's just showing he's full of malarkey!

I don't think your boy half sack fits in with Connor and company anyways dude. His Hot Dog ways seem to wear out their welcome, everywhere he goes. Your reply was to offer up the one guy nobody wants? Nice.

Fair enough, but after seeing him,do you think he can even get in shape by the playoffs? And by 3peat,do you mean him crushing three hot dogs at once? Dude looks like he's been 3peatn all summer..

Doesn't need to be in shape to be a weapon of mass destruction my friend - he is the 'TOP DOG'!

I like the concept of this trade but 6 mil is a lot for a third line center.

Maybe you should be more worried about that sloath Lucic than our Kessel but that's just my 2 cents

Him being out of shape is a myth. He has a naturally pudgy face and his lack of ball/cancer pills don't help his physique anyways.

He's nearly PPG in the playoffs. Even if he was out of shape, as you say, its clearly not effecting his playoff performance.

Top pairing is Letang, and whoever can keep up with him without falling behind. Dumo fits that... hes a mid pairing basically anywhere else, but works great with Letang.

Larsson is a 3rd defender on 30 other teams.
- j.boyd919

You're really sticking to this malarky, huh?

Larsson is what Paul Martin was when the Pens picked him up. He's a legit #2 dman. He's not a PP guy or a guy who gets the points, but he does everything else on the ice better than most.

I think what's changed around the league in the last three year or so is the idea of what a "top" anything needs to be.

It used to be you basically stacked from the top down, but I think especially in the cap era, teams have learned you don't need a top player in all your top lines. You need balance.

Dumo knows how to play with Letang and does it well, and that's all that matters.

No lol they aren't even close.

Adam Larsson is not what Paul Martin was. Paul Martin could facilitate zone exits, break out passes, as well as defend and suppress shots well. Not to mention he also put up some points on PP2. Martin regularly topped 20+ points and was on pace to top 20 points in 2013-14 before he got hurt.

Larsson struggles to generate any offense (or shots for that matter), doesn't contribute on the PP, and has topped 20 points once in 6 years (2 years he was hurt, but he was unlikely to top 20 as he had 6 and 3 points in those years before his injuries lol). Oh, Larsson was also 4th in TOI if that means anything to you.

Dom's gamescore values him as a 3rd pairing guy LOL, I at least give him 2nd pairing.

Exits the zone with possession less than half the time.

His zone entry defense is pretty average too...

Dude is pretty much Ron Hainsey/Olli Maatta... are either of those guys top pairing? (frank) no.

Don't worry,we don't have giant sloaths here in Canada. They're clearly a Merica problem. As for Lucic, maybe Sid the Squid wouldn't be outside chasing butterflies, and doing finger paintings,if you guys had Lucic walking the beat, instead of hurting your players. Funny how the Penguins didn't start being a contender again, until after Lucic left Boston. We're fine with Lucic watching McDavids back, but thanks for your concern.

Hahaha, Sid is doing so with his 3 cups. And the Lucic contract is a disaster. But Mcdavid is a beast I love watching him play.

Typical Merican response... While you wipe the drool off your chin,I'll try and put it as simple as possible. THE PENGUINS DIDNT WIN poopE WHILE LUCIC WAS IN BOSTON. You guys had your a$$ handed to you again and again,by Lucic and the big bad Bruins. Looch had his way with your girl Syndy for years. It was like watching Shawshank marathons, every spring.

In the one season Lucic played with McDavid,Connor played 82 games, all without inadequate defence jumping on his back or causing him to miss half a season. That mixed with 23 goals and 50 points and I'll pay 6 melons for that type of insurance ALL DAY!! Take care gents,it was a pleasure conversing with you guys,it's what makes being a sports fan so great. Best wishes to you and the Pens this year. I think a Crosby vs McDavid final, would be the next best thing to seeing them suit up together for Canada,at the Olympics. Cheers boys!!
