These are the lines I was thinking. Snow will want Ladd on the 2nd line.
- JimmyP

its not snow that calls the shots on who plays there. I Do think Weight will try combinations with ladd on 2nd line in preseason but if Ladd didn't fit well last year what makes you think he will this year?

Its like constant Bailey bashing. Everyone was rotated on 1st line with Tavares and Bailey just won out every time.

So, if you're putting JHS on the 2nd line, then where are you putting Bailey? Because I think the lines are going to stack up like this:
Lee-JT-Eberle
Ladd-Nelson-Bailey
Chimera-Beau-JHS
Kuli-CC-CC

*Quine, Prince extras with the possibility of Barzal(though I think he'll spend the season in Bridge).

I look at this line and see many rants and tirades coming in my (our) future.

No the isles finished 17th over all and b port was like 7th unfortunately the other 4 teams were in that top 7 so they had more points then 9 teams that got in

He has in the past. We'll see what happens with Weight, but Snow has had a tremendous influence on player decisions with Crappy. Crappy publicly admitted it.

I'm not crazy about a Ladd Nelson Bailey line, but I like it better than JHS Nelson Bailey. I think the latter will be passing the puck back and forth all day. We'll see what shakes out in pre-season.

Also I'm not sure what to expect from Ladd this year. If he really was hurting all last year we could see a different player. I still think Snow's ego will make it difficult to put his $6 mill FA acquisition on the third line.

Phil Kessel is on the third line, line assignments don't mean anything. If Ladd can pop in 25 I don't care where he plays

100% agree with your line assignment point.

But Ladd with 25

He did score 23 last year... While shooting 16% mind you.

Just... only had 8 assists somehow...

Dan, total sarcasm. Anybody on here knew that was coming!

Although one Kool Aid drinking tranny on here says he's scoring 28

It is when he averages a 12.2% shooting percentage for his career and shot 16% somehow instead.
His # of shots and shot attempts has dropped the last three years. TOI was his lowest since the Thrashers existed and had his lowest hit totals since 2012.

He DID set a career high in blocked shots, though, whatever that's worth.

Weird that he and Weight were teammates at one point.

He has slowed down quite a bit and couldn't get out of the way quick enough

If he's recovered from his nagging injury then 25 is certainly reasonable.

Bailey can play LW too. he has before.
Lee-JT-Eberle
Bailey-Nelson-JHS
Ladd-Beau-Chimera
Kuli-CC-CC

Barzal not making the big club over Beau. Beau has leapfrogged him. Barzal will be first call up if we lose someone injury.

Ladd will get plenty of PP time. He played his best last year with the other old fart Chimera at even strength.
Even if you start Ladd on 2nd line it wont last.

- Spartiarti

You don't know that.
With Bailey-Nelson-JHS, you've got a whole lot of passing going on. Even if Weight has the first line of Lee-JT-Bailey, I think the 2nd line would be Ladd-Nelson-Eberle. I don't think Ladd would get dropped to the 3rd line. Not saying it won't/can't happen, just don't think it will.

While I'd agree with that, Pitts has more talent to spread around than the Isles.

chimera scored 20 from 3rd line and played little to no PP time.
Ladd also scored a good amount of goals.

Ladd will get plenty of time on PP. It just seem more wasteful to put a talent like JSH who is probably capable of way more Mins to get 3rd line mins.

One big difference in weight vs cappy is having skill guys play with skill and have grinders grind. Not he cappy mentality of everyone playing the same game.

ladd played some of his best hockey from 3rd line last season, I'm not sure how its an issue. He going to get his money regardless.
