I don't know about that. I think it could be Bailey, Nelson, Ladd. Ho Sang would be on the third line. - JimmyP
Ho sang is a top 6 player and was playing there last year |

I liked what we saw from him last year but, he's only played 21 games in the NHL. He needs to play more before I will call him a top 6 player. |

I know it's completely random, but anybody interested in joining a fall bowling league? One of my teammates is going to bootcamp, so I need a spot filled. |

Garth Snow called Brian Strait a top 4 defenseman once upon a time. |

No offense but if you think ho sang is even in the same ballpark as strait then we should just agree to disagree now. Jhs has talent and speed galore and showed it last year, strait never had it or showed it. |

It was a joke. I think Ho Sang showed he has some skills but scoring at a .5 clip in 21 games of NHL experience doesn't make him a top 6 forward yet imo. He should by all means play in that role because that's where his skill set is but he'll have to prove be belongs to stay there. I believe that was Jimmy's point as well... |

Well you should both expect him to start there because weight will put players where they fit to be successful and that's where he wanted him last year. Also he proba my would have had more points if the guys out there were ready for half his passes |

Well That's kind of the story with any good passers No? He just has to prove he belongs in that role is my point. Hopefully he does. |

remember the coach is Weight here not Cappy.
Ho Sang Could very well become our 2nd best player in next few years. Putting him on 3rd line is something cappy would do.
JHS should indeed be playing 2nd line and should also be one of our primary guys on PP. |

Bridgeport was actually good last year but their division was awesome and only 4 teams can make it per division so even though they were like 7 or 9 overall they didn't make it - Upstate_isles
I assume you are kidding right? b/c aren't isles a good team but the Metro division was stacked? With the amount of time that Snow spends trying to make Bridgeport good then they should be better.
Only thing Bridgeport has been good for is developing our Defensive prospects. |

Weight is just as much of an unknown as jhs is. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Snow has based every, single, one of our seasons on unknowns since he became GM and it has worked out pretty much never. This season is no different. |

Heaven forbid in all the years he's been GM, he would hire an experienced NHL coach.

So, if you're putting JHS on the 2nd line, then where are you putting Bailey? Because I think the lines are going to stack up like this:
Lee-JT-Eberle
Ladd-Nelson-Bailey
Chimera-Beau-JHS
Kuli-CC-CC
*Quine, Prince extras with the possibility of Barzal(though I think he'll spend the season in Bridge). |

Snow can control an unknown coach. Nobody that's established would put up with his crap. It's all about control and wanting to look like the smartest one in the room. He runs this organization with his ego, not his brain. |

I would love to read the reaction on these boards if the Islanders were thinking of having a college kid sign and be slotted to start at Center this season (Rangers Kerfoot)... You would all be suicidal and screaming at what a joke Snow was as a gm..etc. - niteislander
1st, there are quite a few of us that already think Snow is a joke.
2nd, The Rags need centers. The Isles have a lot of centers. Most of them with established NHL experience at the position. So to say that we would all be suicidal is more than a bit overly-dramatic and presumptuous. Also, while there would probably be push-back at a move like that, it would probably be because of the "where would he play" factor more than the signing in and of itself. |

It was. I loved some of the things I saw JSH do, but I need a larger sample size. I was one of the guys on here that was really high on Strome after his first season, so now I am a little more cautious. Hopefully JSH will live up to his potential. |

Let's hope. Of course, that's what we always do. Whether it's player development, making the playoffs or whatever. At least Crappy isn't around to dig his poisoned talons into. |

I think so. Despite what 7 might think, Ladd can put up some goals(No,7, I'm not making another bet). |

Barzal not making the big club over Beau. Beau has leapfrogged him. Barzal will be first call up if we lose someone injury.
Ladd will get plenty of PP time. He played his best last year with the other old fart Chimera at even strength.
Even if you start Ladd on 2nd line it wont last. |
