ain't nothing wrong with either in a bottom-six role...

am hoping that they have enough depth for a gus/larry/moulson fourth line

- Michael Pachla

I don't think we see that till next season
Seems like J Botts wants the kids in Rochester for 1 more year

'18-'19
Kane-Eichel-Nylander
Bailey-O'Reilly-Okposo
Mittelstadt-Reinhart-Baptiste
Girgensons-Larsson-Rodrigues/Fasching
*Moulson traded

Or something like that
Feel free to switch the wingers around...
especially since Mittelstadt might not be ready yet

***we should be able to post a lineup next year that has us easily over 2.5 goals per game... potentially closer to 3 goals per

That is odd.

We might have one in the 4 million range if we resign Kane for what he's actually worth.

I went there

First of all, Rodak is a bum ass female dog. Complete troll of a reporter. Taylor wasn't good, but Holy S, talk about being under duress. Bills o line is an enigma. Good at run blocking, horrendous at pass blocking. EJ Gaines was retreating all night. Brady is going to think Gilmore is still playing for the Bills. Zay looked pretty nice. Hochuli has to make sure there are enough penalties in a game to completely ruin any type of flow.

it was brutal

the o line sucked, but a running qb should be able to overcome it a little, not look like a deer in the headlights

can't believe I was defending tyrod last week

Agreed, Peterman did a better job at side stepping pressure. Matthews should help, I hope. How long will he have to deal with the injury? Is it something that will plague him all season? None of the receivers looked fast, but Boldin looked slow. For someone who was said to have kept himself in shape sure has some conditioning to do.

Told you! Hahaha
For real though...
People are freaking out over preseason

Tyrod's best possible stats this year
3,600yds 25tds 10ints

And that's probably reaching a bit, bc we will still be a run first team

The thing is...
even if Tyrod is the best version of himself
It's still not "franchise QB" numbers

Now if the guys coming out this year were the quality of Goff/Wentz, or Trubisky/Mahomes/Watson...
then I'm probably keeping Tyrod (even if he just improves slightly)

But these guys coming out are said to be on the talent level of Luck

I just don't know how u wouldn't prefer a QB who has the talent to throw for 4,000+ yards, as opposed to Tyrod who maxes out around 3,500

Tyrod's ceiling is maybe 15th best in the league
I think we need better than that to be a playoff team EVERY YEAR
instead of scratching & clawing to hopefully get to 10 wins in a season where everything would have to go right

Boldin was never fast. He used to brag that he never ran as fast as he could on a football field because it wasn't necessary, because, angles. Seriously.

He was/is just not a fast guy, but damn was he good.

Edit: He ran a 4.72 at the combine.

Boldin was never "fast"
And even though he's "in shape" he's also lost a step or 2 at age 36
He's purely a possession/red zone guy at this point
Don't expect more than 500-ish yards
His yards per catch was 8.7 last year
And that was the 5th straight season they declined
He won't average more than 10ypc this season

You're not breaking any new ground here. He looked slow. Like unable to get open slow. Stumbled coming out of his breaks. He has some conditioning to do.

a rookie wr
a slow vet out of shape
a slot wr, that will be out and is new to the team so won't get many reps with tyrod

oh and our starter is a deep ball qb, not a dink and dunk qb

if tyrod plays like this in week 1, and they lose to the jets maybe someone else will be behind center in week 2

By yardage
Points allowed they were 25th
So let's say they're actually somewhere in the middle there

WRs don't matter much if you're QB sucks

Ask Gurley what happens when teams stack the box against you

1- Tennessee
2- Houston
3- Indianapolis
4- Jacksonville

Once they find a QB, I think they can start to be a dangerous team
Until then, offense will struggle to be consistent scoring
Their defense isn't dominant like Houston's...
good, but not great enough to carry the team

6 wins

Maybe 8 if things go right
Maybe 4 if things continue to look like tonight

But again, it's still preseason

No reason to overreact... yet

Maybe
But they don't have an average QB, do they?

Bortles/Henne are among the worst tandems in the league

McCoy is still great
Defense should be a little better
Offense won't score as much as last year

It's preseason
Don't take it too seriously no matter how good or bad they look

I've pretty much stopped watching preseason the past few years, because it makes such little difference to how teams look during the regular season.

I watch week 3 and that's about it because that's the closest to how the starters will play in week 1.

Tyrod looked bad, so it's cause for concern
But it was less than a half of preseason football
I'd say the same thing if he was 8-12 with 2tds

Not making excuses...
I'm not a Tyrod supporter

Just think ppl overreact in both ways way too much about preseason

If I remember right,
our Super Bowl teams rarely won in the preseason

Good teams usually do poorly in the preseason because they know what they have in their starters and they're seeing more what they have in their 2nd, 3rd and 4th stringers.

The Cowboys and Raiders both went 1-3 last year. And the Eagles went 4-0. A few 8-8 teams went 4-0 too. It just doesn't mean much. The Browns did go 0-4 though.

Each team approaches preseason differently
That's another big reason it's tough to evaluate the team overall
However,
Tyrod did not look good tonight
If he plays like that Reg season we won't have to worry about trading up for a qb

Homie, I'll say this

If the Jags sign Kaepernick...
then they have a chance to be a good team this year
With a top10-ish defense, & strong running game, he could give them a chance to be better than 8-8

Right now...
Bortles might lose that starting job to Chad Henne
They're just so brutal that idk Jacksonville could overcome it
U think Tyrod looked bad?
I just watched the JAX vs TB replay

Jags need a QB desperately

He can't hit intermediate out routes. And it's been a 3 year problem.

Now we have 0 deep threats, so teams are just going to blitz and tell our receivers to beat them 1 on 1, which they can't.

Be ready. This offense will be brutal unless Taylor all of the sudden gets better

If the Jags trade for Matt Moore they'll win the division. I don't trust Mariota yet. But Kapernick is not the QB for them.
