Thought he was saying the list was as of 10/1/17. I took the "that are 22 or younger" as the....not preposition, just the criteria for the list that was to be released as of 10/1/17.
Hahaha, I'm not sure he wouldn't be a healthy scratch. The Flyers have had a lot of drama over the years. - fls13
I don't know, we're talking about a guy who got in a limo and left hours before the game when he was told he wasn't going to play, only for a player to get injured/ill and having to dress someone else (Cote?) in his place.

He could be in the mix. A Flyers All-Drama Team would be good down the middle with Lindros and Richards and in goal with Headmanek and Bryz. Keenan behind the bench, of course. Lots of tough guys on the wing. Schultz led the league in drama when he was a Flyer. Dave Brown too for his continued attempts to murder Tomas Sandstrom.
Great insight as usual Bill. Hope the Flyers can turn in to a legit playoff threat for the years to come and win a cup. I just missed the last cups and suffered long enough. I really like Hextalls patients but it will be interesting to see how he grows if these prospects rise to their potential. He will have difficult trade/contract management issues compared to cleanup duty and being able to stock pile. I believe he will be up for it.
FWIW, here is how I'd rank the best players in the Flyers system that are 22 or younger as of 10/1/2017:
Honorable Mentions
Felix Sandstrom G
Morgan Frost C
10. Carter Hart G
Though he is unquestionably an elite prospect, goalie development from Junior to the NHL is by far the toughest to predict. IMO, this weighs down the ranking of any goalie on this type of list. That being said, Hart has as good a chance of any goalie prospect out there of being a top notch NHL starter.
9. Sam Morin D
Morin is going to be an NHL defenseman, probably as of game 1 of this upcoming season. The question marks are mainly in regards to his ceiling.
8. Robert Hagg D
Like Morin, he will likely be starting the season in the NHL. Hagg is a tough guy to get a read on. He doesn't truly excel in any one facet of the game, but he does everything well. As long as he remains focused, he should have a long and succesful NHL career
7. German Rubtsov C
Rubtsov comes in at #7 mainly due to his potential to be an impact player at the NHL level. I'm really looking forward to seeing how he does this year in Junior and in the World Championships. He has all the tools and if he continues to get stronger, I could see him challenging for a roster spot on the big club in 18-19.
6. Oskar Lindblom LW
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Lindblom will be an NHL player. The only question is can he excel in a top 6 role, or will he be a 3rd liner. Either way, I expect him to play for the Flyers this season.
5. Phil Myers D
Myers is an amazing package of size, speed, skill and smarts and has future top 4 NHL Dman written all over him. He has legitimate potential to be a top pairing guy as well. I can't wait to see how he looks going up against pros at the AHL level and it would not surprise me to see him get some games with the Flyers this season too.
4. Travis Sanheim C
The only reason Sanheim edged out Myers on my list is that he has already shown, with his 2nd half play last year, that he can excel at the pro level. He will be a Flyer soon and with his skating ability, he also has top pair potential.
3. Travis Konecny LW/RW
TK has already played successfully at the NHL level and that counts for a lot in my rankings. He has all the tools to be quality top 6 forward in the NHL.
2. Nolan Patrick C
Patrick will almost certainly be playing in the NHL this year at the age of 19 and he is legitimate potential 1C and perhaps a future team captain. His game is incredibly advanced and complete for a teenager.
1. Ivan Provorov D
20 years old, and already the teams best defenseman and a legit top pair guy. He is only going to get better too. Provorov does everything well and thinks the game at a world class level. He has the potential to go down as one of the top 2 or 3 dmen to ever play for the Flyers. - BiggE
Haag is going to be good. Sleeper of all the D men IMO.
Provorov and Rubstov have the same agent and he said if you thought Provorov came into the league and did well, wait until Rubstov comes up. Take it for what it's worth, probably an agent hyping his client. Still cause for excitement.
So there is a big music festival in the Lehigh Valley area called Musikfest. It ended this past weekend. Anyway, Live was one of the bands that played, but opening for them was a band called Black Pistol Fire. I am really digging it

Was that the classic Live line up with Ed as the lead singer or the other version?
I went to a game when I was 15, and was lucky enough to sit about 5 rows off the ice near the Flyers bench. As a kid, it was the closest I had gotten to sit during a game, and me and my friends were just in awe. Anyway, as kids do, you want to wave to players during tv timeouts and see if they acknowledge your presence. Only two players did and it made our night.
Todd Fedoruk and Roman Cechmanek.
Flyers ended up losing 1-0 in OT to the Devils. I believe Scott Gomez scored the GWG.
Always loved Cechmanek.

It is a bit of a shame for Cechmanek to be remembered for his playoff shortcomings. When he was good, he was really good. When he was bad, he was terrible.
The flip side of being remembered the way Cechmanek is remembered is Keith Primeau.
If not for the OT goal against the Pens in 5OT and the 2004 playoff run, how would Keith Primeau be remembered as a Flyer?
Some fans still don't forgive Primeau for publicly crushing Bill Barber. Imagine how Flyers fans would perceive Primeau's Flyers career had he not had playoff success. - johndewar
2004 playoff run. Primeau was great against the Devils, Leafs and Bolts. I believe Primeau was in a checking role and got zero PP time and yet lead the team in points.

I eat the stories up.
Back when we held preseason games in London Ontario, one year we faced Ottawa the September they made the Stanley Cup final. At this time, this was the early stages of cell phone cameras and digital cameras. My favorite part of each live experience is warm ups. At this game I was filmed warms in Ottawa. Chris Neil was there, Andrej Meszaros both for Ottawa. At this time Brian McGratton was skating up and down the red line. Always loved this guy, I have no idea why I wasn't paying attention to him but he was doing everything he could to get his head into my view. It was pretty funny.
Oh, Bellemare smacked the glass handed me a puck once in Detroit about a year ago.

They're humans! Sometimes we can forget that, even seeing them in person.
Last year the Coyotes/Roadrunners did a little fun exhibition game here and I was in the goal judges box (yep, the AHL still uses them in some buildings) during warm ups. Shane Doan was just ripping shots and even if you're ready for it, sometimes it's still startling and loud. Anyway, I must've jumped once or twice, and he skated to the net, looked at me, winked and laughed.
I think I looked like this . He was also super cool with all of the fans, signed every autograph while the other players had gone back to the locker room. Smile on his face the whole time.

he was an absolute beast against TB that year, single handedly forced that game 7 it seemed like. I was there for game 4 when we tied it up 2-2. We had a two goal lead cut in half with about a minute and a half left. Was the longest 90 seconds of my entire life it felt like.

I have a signed Primeau jersey that I still wear. If not for that 2004 run, I doubt I even remember much about him outside of the 5-OT goal.
He certainly cemented himself in Flyers lore with that, and overshadows the weird stuff that went down between him and the coaching staff.
