I guess restaurants are more important than winning.

Only player next to Patches to score 20 + goals last season...

Move down the lineup?

Kinda my point. Bergevin signed Hemsky so he'll play and not on the 4th. No other choice but to start Shaw there until someone gets hurt or plays like crap.

Idoubt Hemsky bumps Shaw and Byron.

Hemsky might noteven make it out of camp.

I think he still has some good hockey in him if he doesn't get injured

He might be able to fill in here and there once in a while. Not gonna make a huge impact

Not the player he used to be. Everybody seems to think that Byron won't repeat, but yeah, he won't repeat on the fourth line.

Can't believe MB won't make at least one trade before the season starts...

he turned 34 this week, certainly not in his prime and he had a lot of injuries the past 10-15 years. It's a one year deal, he's healthy he says so we will see what he has left and if he can stay healthy. It's a gamble......or more like a bandaid after MB (frank)ed up with Radulov

This. But just like Semin, he'll be given the first opportunity to prove MB right and Byron and Plekanec are the best fits as his line mates. Third line based on defensive responsibility and speed. Shaw starts on fourth.

I think Shaw is a better hockey player than Hemksy at this point, but that's just me. Look at the cap hit anyway. Hemsky is nothing more than a depth move. Like Streit.

I'm not disagreeing with you. Doesn't change the idea that Hemsky will be given a chance to succeed and for that to happen, he'll have to play on third whereas Shaw can still be effective next to Mitchell and Hudon.

Weber, Radulov, Drouin, Alzner.

You may argue that Byron was a pure gamble, but it was a good move. Same with Danault.

Sure, he doesn't (frank) up all the time. But I still don't get his passionate love for depth guys...

You may be right. Who knows? It's not like the team doesn't have questions marks on the first two lines anyway.

Meh. Not much to speak about when it comes to prospects. Injuries happen all the time, so it's not a bad thing to have some depth guys, here and there. You may argue Huddon should get a chance at some point, but it's not like we have a lof of blue chips prospects waiting to play in the NHL.

McCarron, Carr, Hudon, De la Rose could all play depth roles in the NHL (Hudon maybe even a more offensive role).

He is, but i find him to be more effective as a center than a winger.

Patches-Galch-Drouin
Lekhonen-Danault-Gallagher
Byron-Plekanec-Hemsky
Hudon-Shaw-Mitchell/McCarron/Martinsen

Thats how i would start the season...
