Nice to see them climbing in the rankings, however subjective the list may be. Couple more good drafts and the team may turn things around in three or four years.

Nah, fire the coach mid-season and they are cup bound. 100% guaranteed.

Did I ever tell you that I once drove from Vancouver to Calgary in 2 hours?

On beaten up Tampa squad too. Burns got all the hype but Hedman was amazing too. You can make a strong case for him over anyone not named Karlsson.

Those 4 centres could be a pretty deadly combo when rolling 4 lines (obviously, if they all progress as expected * HUGE IF)
BUT - I do like the fact that they're almost 4 completely different type of players too.

That could work out. Which makes next draft less desperate for a Valeno center and maybe top D can be got.

Outside of what Bo wants, because he obviously will have a say in the outcome, I think it comes down to whether people think this season was a fluke. I understand the concern of regression, sign short term to prove consistency. I am of the side that thinks he is a safe bet.

Not that these stats are really related but people do like to associate point production with cap hits... Bo finished at a tie for 83rd in points, and according to CapFriendly the 100th highest cap hit this past season was $5.5m, and next season it is $5.7m. Top 150 for this past year was $4.85m and next year its $5.0m... If contracts continue to rise a $5.5m hit should be reasonable especially if he solidifies himself as a top 150 player

Even if he levels off production wise, he's becoming better and better 2-way center and a beast in FO's. If his skating continues to improve the sky is the limit IMO

He is the type of defensemen Van needs.

I personally think Hedman is the better all-around d-man. karlsson without Mehtot is going to be very interesting.

He was my Norris pick. Was better than Burns defensively.

Blackhawks, Red Wings Not Pursuing Will Butcher

Buffalo, New Jersey and Vegas, columbus have contacted Butcher. Pretty weak list for a hobby baker winner.

I didn't realize until I was researching how vitally important it is to have a number one dman. Kids turned out to be a helluva pick.

Need a guy like that absolutely, you need a top pick to get him though. Or at least to have the best odds he turns out. It's not 2003 anymore, drafting league wide is so much better with most (not Vancouver) teams scouting departments. So hard to find a gem in the second round these days.

whatever you do don't look at the 31-40 picks in drafts from 2011 on. It's crazy bad.
