Cullen says he's looking forward to being reunited with Eric Staal.
Says he owes Jim Rutherford a lot. (Three Stanley Cups? Yeah, I'd say so.) |

How the hell was he ungrateful? He's being nothing but gracious right now to the Pitt media. He was a key cog in back to back Cups. His debt to Pitt for giving him a league minimum contract in 2015 is paid. |

This is a nothingburger. It would only be a problem if Sid and Geno were surrounded by a bunch of aging/declining players. It's the exact opposite. Our kids have already graduated to the NHL and are significant contributors. Players like ZAR, Sprong and Jarry will be here very soon as well.
Bottom line, it would be nice to have a couple of better D prospects in the pipeline, but I like our chances for more cups in the next 3 or 4 years. When it goes south, you might as well go all the way south.....like Antarctica/high lottery pick south. |

You guys know ZAR is the same age as Hampus Lindholm and Filip Forsberg, right? |

I didn't really want Cullen back, but now that Sundqvist is gone this stings a little. I obviously trust Ruth, but he needs to get a pretty good 3C if a guy like Rowney is the 4C. Still kind of pissed we didn't go after Jussi. Could have been a nice contributor at center or wing. |

What I didn't realize is that all players develop at exactly the same rate...
All I can go by is the reports from a couple of media guys around here. They say he looks great. Good hands and fearless around the net. By some reports, he's ahead of Sprong and could challenge for a spot out of camp.
Why should I discount him because other players have had great success at younger ages? |

Oh I didn't say you should, just that some of his success should likely be taken with a grain of salt, as a lot of the players in his age group are already onto their second NHL contracts. |

Of course our farm system is crap. The two players with the highest potential both exceeded it so dramatically that they're playing on our first line. |

Lebron is Leaving Cleveland!!! Twitter is saying it, so it must be True.

By definition, college players are almost always late to the game as most of their peer age group is already onto their second nhl contracts by the time they hit the NHL ice - so looking at other non-college players and what their doing at the same age doesn't really make much sense. |

I hope not. He'd be giving up free trips to the Finals for atleast the next 2-3 years if he went to LA |

Other College Players from said draft year:
Jacob Trouba
Jake McCabe
Colton Parayko
Ben Hutton
Jaccob Slavin
Shayne Gostisbehere
Brady Skjei
Devin Shore
etc. etc. etc.
He's still very young, but to expect him to step in and be an impact player may be a bit much. It doesn't happen very often. |

Ok so Culldog maybe does like the $?? 1m + about 700k in possible bonuses, I wonder if that had anything to do with his decision?
Ok can we start to get a little 'concerned' about our C stock?
Oh, & (frank) the farm system ratings anyway, Pitty is a city - no place for cows sheep & (frank)ing swines (just plenty of beatches)! |

(frank) me Bingo, I can't believe you didn't put Skjei higher on that list! He's definitely higher than Slavin - has Slavin ever scored a playoff goal? |

Nah man its cool. People have been telling me this isn't a problem since the draft. I'm sure Rowney and JSD/Bleuger can do the trick until GMJR finds his guy, and if the deadline comes and goes and we don't have a good C, then what the hell, we just won back to back Cups, so who cares
Excuse me while I channel my inner holeinone: |

Fairly normal. T and K were basically ufa year deals. That adds 10-20.%. |

Sign jagr trade hornqvist for a center. I am having a lot of trouble figuring out how we fix the center depth without loving someone well valued now. |
