if it wasn't for McDavid, they'd still be picking first overall every single year

he didn't score a goal in 13 playoff games, he is awful at faceoffs.

We can't afford his cap hit

The Rangers are among the final two or three teams under consideration by Harvard free-agent center Alex Kerfoot, The Post has learned.

full article from brooks:

J.P. Barry, the 23-year-old center’s agent who confirmed the parties’ mutual interest, told The Post that Kerfoot likely would reach a decision no later than Tuesday following a weekend of reflection.

Kerfoot, a Hobey Baker finalist who recorded 45 points (16-29) for the Crimson last year, was originally selected by the Devils in the fifth round of the 2012 entry draft at 150th overall but decided to go the route of one-time teammate Jimmy Vesey and become a free agent after four years in college.

The 5’10, 175-pounder is quick and skilled and plays a position at which the Blueshirts appear painfully thin with teenage first-rounder Lias Andersson and veteran David Desharnais apparently 3 and 4 on the depth chart down the middle behind Mika Zibanejad and Kevin Hayes.

If Kerfoot, a Vancouver native, does follow Vesey to Broadway, he would certainly be in the mix for an opening-night roster spot.

He's 24, is Datsyuk-ian in terms of his cerebral defensive and positioning play, and despite his off season last year he seems like he will break 60 points a few times in his career since he put up 56 points twice at ages 21 and 22.

With the exception of age, you basically just described Stepan.

its wild that out of Eberle, Hall and RNH... RNH is the one they picked.

maybe thats cause RNH is the one that would bring nothing back?

I would rather have Eberle and much rather have Hall fwiw
