That's tough. They are both similar, both remind me of Doug Weight honestly. If they Barzal proves he can play center, that position is more desirable so I'd say him
- Dan Petriw

Well if both can reach their potential and based on what we saw out of jhs last year this could be the legit scoring depth the isles have lacked. Of course that's under the assumption that jt resigns.

I'd show up if I lived closer, and I'd wear a koolaide shirt, and 7 could wear a 7 up shirt, and ses a pot leaf, and Gaines would wear his head and, capt would be the guy at the door being told no kids in the bar, and chiefs would be the guy holding a man in a rangers jersey who I assume would be mdw. This could be great
- Upstate_isles

Why would I wear anything other than my Islanders jersey?

Dan, another question, what does this organization and fan base need more? JT signed for a long term contract or a Stanley cup? And in your opinion can both be obtained in the same time frame? In other words can this team pay him what he deserves and still put together a roster that can win the cup?

Well they can't put together a roster that can win the Cup without him (at least not at any point in the foreseeable future), so the answer to that question doesn't really matter, in all honesty.

why was prince making the team this year? where would he have played if he was healthy?

why are we beating a dead horse on JT, he is signing with islanders unless at team like Montreal gives him like 13MM a year to play for them, which if that occurred, let that happen.

Sorry don't know how to quote someone, but that's what I'm getting at. They can't put together a cup roster with him especially if he takes up maximum cap space. I'm just trying to figure out how I would get to see another islanders cup before I die. If it means trading JT for several important assets then so be it.

I would say yes they can, if they hired the right people (got rid of Snow and hired someone like Jim Devellano).

Chances of a cup with Snowsense? Z-

Losing JT would be a massive setback even if they trade him. The hit to the teams reputation alone would take years to overcome.

After Dan Maloney, Mike Milbury, John Spano, the Milstein/Gluckstern regime, Charles Wang, Neil Smith for a month, Garth Snow, and a whole slew of questionable coaches, I'm not sure there's much of a reputation left worth worrying about.

Well, the Isles could be added to the 3 no trades lists they're not already on.

I'm sure you understood my point. Are they even a bubble team if JT is traded?

Depends what/whom they get in return. If it's prospects and picks, then the answer is no. If it's proven NHL quality players, then maybe they still are....

Of course but under the circumstances with jT being a fA and most of all Garth Snow handling the negotiation of said trade, it will be refer to my last post ^^^^

You will never get fair value in a trade. You'll get a bunch of lesser talents that collectively probably make more than Tavares anyway. They need to keep a steady influx of younger, affordable talent coming to fill holes in the roster and make a savvy move or two if/when the opportunity presents itself.
