Kessel was a great trade for them.

That said, all the ones you mentioned were the old regime...

Was not the guy in Boston that he is in Atlantipeg. While a Bruin he was beyond frustrating to watch and wildly inconsistent. Peverly made an impact and one that helped them win a cup. I would do that trade everyday and twice on Sunday.

Fluto Shinzawa? I didn't see it. It would be very consistent with the Bruins history of picking big lumbering slugs like Backes over the talented scoring wingers. However Sweeney has been saying he wants a faster, transition type of team. Trading PAstrnak flies in the face of that.

Pay Pastrnak.
Stop paying the Backes' and Beleskeys of the world.

I will bet someone $5 this doesnt happen.
- The-O-G

That is not a gamble. If you know the definition of a rumour you would know it is a currently circulating story or report of uncertain or doubtful truth. You are basically betting that the Sun will rise every morning.

When some compare McAvoy to Doughty, why trade another young key piece on the team to acquire said player?

Not really when you think about it. Getting Seguin and Hamilton is a win for sure but the fact that they traded both of those for less than value kind of ruins that deal in the end. I mean what did they get for them? Eriksson and some picks?

Id rather have Kessel than that end result

I think if Sweens traded Pasta for anything less than 2x a King's ransom, his head would be placed on a pike outside the entrance of the garden.

- HandsomeRalph

I'd like to live just long enough to be there when they cut off your head and stick it on a pike as a warning to the next ten generations that some favors come with too high a price. I would look up at your lifeless eyes and wave like this.

Kessel - Seguin, Hamilton, Jared Knight

Tyler Seguin w/ (Rich Peverley (Acquired from moving Blake Wheeler) & Ryan Button) for

Loui Eriksson (left via UFA)
Joe Morrow (didnt QO, left)
Reilly Smith (Tradeded for Hayes, then Boughout)
Matt Fraser (claimed off waivers)

Hamilton for Zachary Senyshyn, Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson, Jeremy Lauzon

Jared Knight for Zack Phillips

That trade tree is pretty gross, I love JFK as a prospect, I think hes legit and Senyshyn should be a good one too but they legit had the chance to have a kings randsom of youth and wealth from that original trade

Well there's been plenty of people that have compared him to Doughty, or said that Doughty would be his ceiling... so not sure where you're not getting your information from.

It is hideous. Now imagine if they lost in 2011. At least there was one cup, the only one in my lifetime and competed for another. Honestly never thought I would have even seen that so long as Jeremy Jacobs owns this team.

Plenty...who aren't Bruins fans?

Doubtful.

Like I said...I'm a fan. But Doughty has two cups, two Olympic golds, a Norris trophy and is a multiple all-star.

McAvoy is a good prospect. That's it.

This is the only thing I could find. Not sure if this is credible website or not. Also prospects are a gamble not a garuntee. IDGAF who said it. Pump the brakes on that nonsense until he has a season under his belt.

Judging by your last statement, you may be missing the concept of a comparable. Nobody is saying McAvoy is Doughty RIGHT NOW. Here's a couple of sources for you:
