A better way to do it would be to use primary 5v5 points. On the power play, opportunities and roles are different and then you're not really evaluating wingers, just forwards. While I'm not as harsh on the NHL counting secondary assists as some are, I do think primary points are a more accurate and predictive measure of offensive contributions. Unfortunately I'm not really sure where to find a lot of this stuff right now with everyone shutting down their sites.
