Excellent, as desperate as the Leafs are for a RHD - he was a total POS. |

You really think so?
With all the games lost in the shoot out, games lost to giving up big 3rd period leads and all the games lost at the beginning of the season when Andersen wasn't quite ready after injury......I don't think a extra 10 wins is impossible. Not at all. - underhill14
Not impossible, just unlikely. Four teams had 50 wins in the NHL last year. Capitals had 55, Penguins, Blue Jackets and Blackhawks all had 50.

If they are mutually terminating the contract like it appears then no his contract and cap hit disappear |

He makes $1.6 million this year.
I can't really imagine any other team (including KHL) offering him that kind of coin.
So I hope you are right about mutual termination, but if I were him, I probably wouldn't do it. |

Wow! Hard to imagine any team - even in the beer league that is the KHL would offer more than $1.45 million for a year of this guy. Maybe the keys to a nice cottage on Robidas Island under the table?

I dont think this really has anything to do with the Shannaplan, Andersen isnt exactly a young player and beating 37 wins is only 5 more than he had last year. If the leafs want to be develop and grow from last year, 38+ wins from a healthy Andersen is a reasonable goal. If they could do anything in the shootout, that alone could do it. - 13sundin13
and no blown leads in the 3rd as well. |

I think I speak on behalf of all Hockeybuzzers when I say that I don't really know how I feel about the events that transpired in Charlottesville this weekend, and that we could all benefit from hearing James Tanner's thoughts. - Atomic Wedgie

The Russian team would pay him the 1.6 million for sure, but there is still a chance the Russians get banned from the 2018 Winter and 2020 Summer Olympic games.

I know the easy narrative is to blame all of this in Donald Trump.
But let's be honest here: this hatred isn't 6 months old.
Blaming Trump is too easy.
I think the US of A really needs to take a good, long look in the mirror. - Atomic Wedgie
Racism is Trump's fault Wedgie.
The USA is currently avoiding looking in the mirror by criticizing everything about Trump and blaming him for everything.
As much as he is an asshat... the democrats and most the media have jumped the (frank)ing shark in the past year.

This is what drives me so franking insane about the left (of which I consider myself a card-carrying member):
They don't control all three levels of government, yet they can't seem to drop the smug attitude that they are smarter than the rest of the US, and you have to be stupid to have not voted for them.
I mean, FFS, this should have been the easiest franking Presidential election in the history of democracy for the Democrats to have won. They need to quit harping on what Trump did, and come to the realization that they couldn't win over half the franking country, while running against a fat windbag with no experience who brags about sexually assaulting women.
Seriously, quit going on CNN and shouting at people, calling them stupid for not thinking exactly the way they do.
Start offering solutions to the problems that everyday Americans face - and that includes 45 year old white men in middle America. They deserve representation just as much as any other US citizen.
Oh boy, sorry for the rant. |

The whole left vs right dichotomy is tiresome, old and ineffective.
Time for some Realpolitik based on policy case studies and statistics.... though the lobbyists wouldn't make it easy. |
