Been a very long time since this Leaf team looked this promising. Guess that's what good management is capable of. A lot of good potential in the D end of things. Just trading Jvr for a top draft choice alone may not be a bad option at the deadline.

Bring Franson and Beachamin on a PTO. Then it creates a pretty healthy competition for the 4,5,6 spots...kinda like the competition for forward spots last year and we all know how that turned out.

If we are 1st or 2nd or even 3rd in the Atlantic. I could totally see Lou trading for a D at the deadline.

Nah. Him and Dermott (although Dermott is further along) are not at the level yet. Nielsen needs to work on his d a lot. Both in the AHL this year. Dermott may get a call up. I'd say Rosen has the inside track but I think they go with the 7 d they have to start the year.

This is where the pain arrives. Some fans have to practice a bit more patience. Once the 2018 season starts you'll see the D take shape with Dermott, Rosen and Loljegren replacing Marincin, Marchenko and possibly Carrick/Hainsey.
