He had 4 catches and 40 yards in 8 mins of work. He was a focal point of the offense, something that the fans have been wanting.

Sure it was only one quarter of a preseason game but when have you ever seen the Bills get the ball into their skilled position players besides turning around to hand off?

A healthy Watkins was something I as a fan was excited to see. This trade deflated a ton of the fan base just like the Eichel injury deflated the start to the NHL season.

Again though, what did you see that was electrifying? He made 4 catches that any capable receiver should make. I would say our back up RB had just as many if not more electrifying plays.

Find me a receiver that can be consistently targeted and targeted right out of the gate and then find me their stats and then try to tell me that's not exciting.

You're talking about a guy that when healthy and actually targeted is a huge difference maker.

Remember that game against the Chiefs when they were up huge and lost? Remember what they stopped doing? They stopped throwing the ball at Watkins.

He is that good.

Not saying he can't be electrifying, just that saying he was last night is a mighty stretch.

"When healthy"

Watkins also lollygagged on a sure td, got caught from behind and lost the ball....not exactly dynamic on that one.

He didn't lose the ball he was tackled on the 5.

The Bills scored 2 plays later.

He wasn't lollygagging he was show boating, he owned up to it and hasn't done it since . It was also 2 years ago.

Nobody said he was electrifying last night.

I was just arguing you post about what was so electrifying last night.

It was excitement that it looked like the Bills were *gasp* actually going to make him a focal point of the offense instead as a decoy like Rex and company used him for in some games.

Jordan Matthews is going to make us forget about Sammy with all of his Robert Woods-esque 8 yard catches on 3rd and 12.

I love that we are stockpiling picks for 18. I hate that I won't be watching Sammy this year as a Bill

My bad. That play left me indifferent to Sammy, though. That and the fact we gave up so much for him in the first place....not his fault of course, but he has turned into maybe the fourth or fifth most productive receiver of that draft.

I liken it to being married to someone smoking hot who only puts out once a month, and when they do they can't stop looking at themself in the mirror.

That Pats game when Sammy wasn't even targeted was God-awful.

The opener against the Colts two years ago he had 1 target I think, 0 catches.

Dennison targets his #1 wideouts often. I was looking forward to this year

This.

I think the moves can be smart. But they should have done this a month ago, and I don't buy that they couldnt have

- sbroads24

work ethic and money demands

those were the reasons for the trade.
Last night pushed them over the edge and the mathews trade was on the table for a few days, or so I was just told from my source

Look, my point is this: last night people got to see what an electrifying player Watkins is. He's the player that people get excited for, and buy tickets to see. Yeah people go for the name on the front, but people want to watch players with names on their backs that get them excited.

Exciting and electrifying go hand and hand though right?

It was exciting to see him be targeted right away

There had to be a different way.

Having a legit #1 WR with a legit #1 QB which they are clearly going for next year is something I could be excited about. Not watching Sam Darnold throw to Matthews

All they need to do now is trade LeSean McCoy

Just like Ted.

And Rex said just as much the other day.

"That's a coach's dream, to have that kind of prediction because there is no pressure on you, but I think that is total bull. If that is the case, why was I fired when I was fired if that's how bad this team was? So, I don't get that. To saddle them with four wins, I totally disagree with that."
