I think Beaulieu was traded more for his off ice habits and influence on other players than anything else, but it was probably part of it, yes.

Is he a partier?

I think they wanted Emelin or Plekanec's contracts gone and trading Beaulieu was they way to do it.

Beaulieu clearly wasn't on McPhee's radar since he then moved Schlemko to MTL...

Butcher won't sign here but Bergevin will be in it till the end. He'll end up in CHI or PIT.

I think Alzner will serve much better in Petry-protection duty.

I have a much more positive spin on Jerabek. Article should come out on Saturday as he was my piece this week as a breakout candidate.

I have my doubts about the idea of signing Alzner especially to play with Weber. I think the Habs would have said it clearly right from the beginning. I still believe it's a bad, boring, expensive signing, but I hope to be wrong.

This!

Alzner on the 2nd pair next to Petry will be just fine.

Think Davidson will end up playing in Laval.

Jerabek won't make the cut IMO.

Morrow will get the same chance Beaulieu got last season. Similar types of players.

I could see him stick with Webzy

Douglas Murray and whoever he played with brought the average pair speed below anything seen before

Hall Gill could pivot in place, that gave him angular speed

At this point in his career he doesn't skate much faster than Emelin...
