Japanese family style. Not sushi and other garbage. The guy even railed against how Chinese and Korean people put "Japanese" on their restaurant and just serve sushi and bullpoop
I had grilled seabass and it was the best I've had. |

Other than the retail markup from selling jerseys in their own building, the Leafs do not make more by selling more jerseys.
It goes into the giant NHL pot, and is distributed evenly to all teams. Shocking, I know.
And as much as I would like to blame Stavro, the truth is, the guy simply didn't have the money. - Atomic Wedgie
ya ya I was kidding about the jersey comment.
Stavro had the money, he simply wanted to cut back on payroll to save some for the move to the ACC...although signing the great one could have possibly brought in more money for him.
Deal was done, Stavro nixed it. |

Disagree: Lindholm is excellent as are Reilly (skates better any day of the week than Lindholm) Forsberg was also an excellent pick as was Trouba at #9, The best pick of the draft by a wide margin was Parayko in the 3rd round at pick 86. Sorry to burst your bubble. - winsix
What no love for Slavin with the 120th pick in the 4th round? I'd think he compares favorably to any defensemen in that draft, Parayko included. Especially if you consider their draft positions. |

He had offer on the table from the canucks. But then the canucks canucked him. - Fakepartofme
He was 35 or 36 years old by then anyways, he only put up 97 points that year with the Rangers, who needs that |

You gotta get that looked at.
I saw a Law and Order episode where John Boy Walton got the clap and didn't treat it.
Years later, he killed a baker with a sword because his mind was putty.
True story. |

Mike....while we're discussing Leaf miscalculations, can you chime in on 1988? Scott Pearson at 6th overall, the next four players taken were Gelinas, Roenick, Brind'Amour and Selanne, they had 4300 points between them.
What say you? |

Roenick was a cancer - wouldn't want him on my team.
So selecting Pearson is really only 75% as bad as you make it out to be. |

Fortunately you could do the same for most team's misses |

I know, Mike was just poking some fun at the Canucks in an earlier post so I thought I'd get the last word with him because he'll never read that. |

wasn't he on a line with Lindros in Jrs? Could be why he was selected. |

Yeah, don't ever fool around on hockeydb.com's "draft by year" and "draft by team" section - it will put you in the loony bin.
1988, last pick of first round, Leafs select Steve Bancroft.
Next pick, Quebec takes Adam Foote.
I could do this all franking day. |

Wrong Pearson. That was Rob.
On a different note.....Trouba and Lindholm would challenge in the 2012 top 5 draft redo.
And on another note....pairing Zaitsev and Reilly would be a mistake. They sucked together last year, hence the terrible minus 20s they racked up in a month together. Gardiner and Zaitsev though worked well as a pair. |
