Beside points, Reilly has to this point been on much weaker teams than Anaheim and the Jets. Things do change though. Trouba is huge and can hit, Lindholm is excellent and Rielly can skate circles around either of them.

Great points! And hence the problem with Rielly, is that the leafs dman have been slotted out of postion! No true number one,Phaneuf playing with rookies as a number one when he shouldn't of! Defenseman playing on their off side,playing number one when their really a two or three? If when can trade for a top pairing dman, or one of the kids (unlikely?) Can come in a play a strong number 2 role,Rielly would benefit immensely! Hainsey unfortunately is a number 4 at best! Imho,and would be able to complete at a number 5 better than we've had, having him beside Reilly will be great for the leadership and experience! Ability to compete not so much? .. We'll see

And when the term of dollars and years were discussed, that the leaf knew it was time to move on,hence the harmonic rumors! They'll be discussing this all season til it happens! I don't think they'll let him walk in July, he'll be traded at the deadline for assets!

I am sure they will explore trading him at the deadline, if they can't now in a packaged deal. If it makes sense they will trade him for a 1st Rounder+ probably. Or if we are in a good playoff spot, we might just keep him and enjoy the playoff ride once more

Seriously, and since I live here, adult Americans are like little (frank)ing kids. As soon as you want to take something from them they think they need it and hold on with a tantrum.
