Literally the only reason I knew the guys name, thanks HB! :p

Vantel and I had him on our 2/3 round list. Nucker was not fond thought lower. Was happy he got scooped up. Lind as well who needs more seasoning then Gadjo to shine.

more money from endorsements in a better hockey market too.

I'm sure we over think everything and still miss stuff.

lots can happen between now and when he actually signs a new contract.

the money talk, what's fair.. it is nuts. a bit of a turnoff when you look at wage disparity in the world.

I will post when I get home. Ryan Biech posted a few, as well as the spokesperson to the Vaxjo team on twitter.

U got it all other than JT wants beaches & cheap property & tax advantages.
If he fit all that in & be on a contender he's happy happy.
Vancouver is none of the above & we all agree he is not coming here.

Turris was tossed around with mixed results.

Kane was mentioned briefly.

Kane is also key to the push the Sedins into retirement plan. As well as an uptick in truculence

Still looking for the win on the Canucks side as I glance over at Markstrom, The guy we just signed to backup and Demko who maybegood/maybenot. The Ryan Miller solution was a whole lot of "meh"

Horvat will be a really good #2 center. They aren't that hard to find.... It would have been a decent retirement role for Henrik as he continues to regress, but a bonafide 1C? Horvat is not going to be the future there

Has anyone heard what the air quality/smoke is like in the Okanagan? Heading there on Monday…
- LordHumungous

I don't know but I do know it's a lot worse in Vancouver than it is in Kelowna

We never expected Horvat to be #1C and he isn't. He just plays in that role until we draft one.

maybe I am too easily placated, but making a trade for a draft pick that has become an nhl regular in a top 6 role sounds like a win.

Horvat has turned out to be better than many predicted. and if you asked him, I'd guess he'd say he still has much to prove.

the challenge with drafting is actually drafting players that will play for multiple seasons in the NHL. and it takes many years to see this happen if it happens at all.

if Horvat isn't a win, with the #9 pick, I don't know what a win is.

Yet no one else has come close to that return in a goalie trade since.

Jones (nope)
Anderson (nope)
Talbot (Nope)
Rask (Traded him for a player about to put on waivers)

Good for a #9 pick maybe, I just think the #9 pick was a low return for Schneider who at the time was just hitting his prime and had excelled at every level beforehand

At the time he was traded, he looked as good or better than Carey Price. And he's looked pretty good ever since while playing for a terrible Devils team

Since the Canucks are mired in a definitive rebuild, at this point in 2017 a 22 year old 2C is probably better than a 31 year old goalie, but at the time and had the rebuild started earlier (by keeping Schneider and rebuilding around him) The Canucks might well be on the upswing right now, and with a 31 year old Top 5 goalie the future overall might have been brighter

In the end, Schneider has burnt 4 years of his career in NJ, and The nucks have burnt 4 years of a rebuild "trying to make the playoffs" so its all a wash right now anyways

1. Unproven
2. wait, Craig Anderson, before Ottawa journeyman Craig Anderson??
3. Unproven
4. Surely, you're not talking Tukka Rask, who was traded when he was still a prospect

Harping on previous GM regimes hardly matters much now.
May as well go back to Naslund for Stojanov.
