Well we will have to see what happens with the PP. I expect some changes.

But I think Provorov will put up 45-50 points this year.

If he puts up those kinds of numbers this team will be competing for a division title.

Well, I believe he will score more than he did last season. But if he is in that top 10 range scoring wise for defensemen, REALLY good things are happening on the ice.

The other defensemen should help balance it out haha. 45-50 is pretty optimistic, but 40-45 I would be more than pleased with

Maybe not a division but I do think this team can make the playoffs this year. I think there is more depth in the lineup and I think Patrick will be a solid contributor.

As would I. And don't get me wrong, I would be absolutely tickled orange if he puts up 50.

I am of the thinking that Ghost will most likely be this team's leading defensive scorer. In fact, when it all shakes out, I am hoping to see this team's defense leading the league in points when you factor in Myers and Sanheim down the road.

So if Provy is putting up 40-45? How much is Ghost putting up?

The future looks bright my friends.....

If Patrick, Lindblom, Hagg/Morin and Laughton/Vecchione prove to be NHL players, I have no doubt this team can make the playoffs.

Here's the thing I see. As guys like Sanheim/Myers/hagg and Morin are introduced I see Gostisbehere getting less 5 on 5 time. He'll get his PP time but I think he'll see less at 5 on 5 and that will impact his totals i believe.

Gostisbehere is like that puppy you get as a young couple. Then you start having children and that puppy gets cast to the side as you pay more attention to your children.

Maybe I have orange glasses on today but i think there will be a season like the Maple Leafs had. They get in with the wildcard and then they make things interesting.

I like the youth that could be added and hopefully giroux has a bounce back season.

It is. But it would factor into his points if he isn't out there at 5 on 5 as much.

The consensus seems to be that all the Dman will make it to the nhl and contribute n some way. Not one will come up short it seems.

No.

There could be failure. But they have all showed a good sign of progression in there development.

If I saw something that made me hesitant i would say it. Right now i am hoping for best case.

But your right. There could be failures.

Edit: the one I actually worry about is Gostisbehere because his game is based off being a dynamic offensive player. If he doesn't score then he is very average i believe.

He has always done most of his scoring on the PP and 3v3 anyway

That is my hope.

All of them are blue chip prospects, which in a lot of ways is very odd for any franchise.

Now we can debate on what "coming up short" means. Does that mean they are not all stars? Or does it mean they are in and out of the lineup? Who knows?

There is some luck in point scoring as well. I don't think it is a guarantee that Ghost leads the defense in points, but it seems likely. What will lead to the Flyers success is both contributing offensively and driving play. The points are fantastic, but not what means they'll be successful. As the forwards get better it could have an effect on defensemen scoring less. I am just very excited for how much better the depth is going to be.

Prospects don't just fail because there are supposed to be a certain amount that fail. Pretty much all of them have shown success at multiple levels of play and are continuing the trend that they started on shortly after being drafted/signed by the Flyers.

None of it guarantees success, it is just using a little intuition and certainly hoping for the best.

Even if he does score his defensive play is still average at best. Don't know if that's ever going to change. He has a role and hopefully he fulfills that role.

Chances of all panning out are long imo. As long as most contribute then they should be ok. Though some need to contribute in the way they are projected to.

I understand the concern on orange colored glasses but people here seem pretty resolved to the fact that we look like we have the right group for slotting. They all can completely all "hit" as long as people don't female dog if one they are on third pair.

Haag isn't a blue chip and not so sure Morin is either. Doesn't matter any to me but I wouldn't classify them as blue chip.

Coming up short = not making it to me.
