well, Tom didn't think JT Miller was a great draft pick and then he said the criteria for determining if a draft pick was good should only be judged with the few picks after it.
I looked who went 3 picks after JT Miller in 2011 and saw Mark McNeill. The great Mark McNeill.

so back to a previous question, why can't Lias Andersson become Filip Forsberg - jimbro83
NHL draft history is littered with Swedish players that were way, way under drafted -- including the best defensemen of our generation, his long time teammate, and our franchise keeper. The fact of the matter is that many players are labeled as "they are never going to be more than" type players, and they prove people wrong. That's why you have scouts, and those scouts make calls on who they think are going to turn out to he best players. Otherwise, you might as well as just rely on McKenzie, Button and the rest of the schlubs who put rankings together and fire your scouting department.
Saying that Andersson is going to be nothing more than a role player is fundamentally stupid.
your first response to this question was "because the Rangers always make bad first round picks" - jimbro83
I didn't even realize these games were in Plymouth until I was watching Finland and Sweden on Sunday. Could have went to see Andersson live. Kind of sucks I missed it.

Swedes always produce well rounded players. Think they teach them how to play both sides of the puck at a very early age. As apposed to the Russians who preach offense, and a lot of their forwards when making the transition to the AHL/NHL admit they are not very good away from the puck.
