There are no teams that have an "old style" 4th line anymore. You have to be able to score occasionally, and play some great defense now. Oh and better be able to skate too.

The game has changed so much over the last few years to a speed and scoring game. Have to have 4 balanced lines in today's NHL.

It's a big (frank)ing responsibility to be called "Norway". It's too much for me...
- 21peter

Sorry dude, you are the only one on here from Norway, you represent the millions now.

Yeah, he is built like a fire hydrant. He is going to be a possession monster. Jimbo will love that stat.
- mdw7413

I didn't even realize he "drives possession"

that means we won't have to give him "sheltered minutes"

Bigger than Domi, maybe not the offensive touch but I would say more well rounded and a bit less crazy.

You have seen Lias play (presumably through hi-light clips) for about 3 minutes. At 18 years old. Please tell me how it is you can say he is not physical and will not have good size with such certainty. Please.
- Tonybere

Not talking about Andersson, talking about Puempel and Desharnais.

Puempel isn't guaranteed anything, and his cap hit vanishes if in AHL

Not one to feed the troll, I think he's saying there should be guys on the 4th line whose sole job it is to muck, grind and hit, not score goals. AV has no use for such a line, he wants every line to be able to score.
- Fenrir

Guys that can hit, fight a little, change the tempo of the game etc. Dorsett Prust etc type.

Fair enough. But still, you really need to move on from this fixation. They don't have any big, tough, good-skating players with a little offense in the system. And there doesn't seem to be any available that fit by means of salary or skill. This is what we have. Give AV a chance to game plan around what we have before condemning them. Is it unreasonable to think we may be able to find something they do well enough to make our 4th (and by definition least important) line able to not get blown off the ice?

You do realize there is a good chance Andersson is the center on that line.

Reeves just drilled Shattenkirk into the boards!
Simmonds just punched McD in the jaw!
Eakin just ran Hank!

...........here comes Fast Puempel and Desharnais....... do we really want our likely top goal scorer (Kreider) or top 4dman Smith having to answer for everything? I'm not saying the whole 4th line needs to be able to fight, but I think at least 1 guy needs to be able to.

None of those guys play on their respective 4th lines. So, unless you want to put us into a mismatch just to take some penalties and put the team at a disadvantage, I suggest you watch some ESPN classic and get it out of your system.
If you have to have a fighter, then your options begin and end with Tanner Glass. Take it or leave it.

Our 4th line last year was Fast - Lindberg - Puempel for the second half of the year and I don't remember any physicality issues
