thing about jagr is, is he totally ok with riding pine if in fact puju/slep worked out?
as we're obviously better served developing them for the long haul.

jagr obviously knows how the biz works and nothing is guaranteed. he also doesn't have a ton of options, so he might just agree to anything at this point if he wants to play badly enough. but yeah, if I'm pc I'm telling him youre the guy if our younger players cant fill those roles adequately. like we're gonna be doing all we can to develop puju, slepyshev, caggiula and even khaira (regardless that hes a bottom 6 guy- u follow my point. we wanna give those guys ice time) ahead of you. do you wanna spend whats probably your last season as a potential healthy scratch many nights?

if I'm jagr that's not super appealing until all options are exhausted.

I think the fans and media would go a little nuts if Jägr was sitting while the Oilers face the eventual cold spell on the powerplay.

Eventual cold spell? Is this more Malarkey like that brilliant " McDavid has 1 good trick" bullpoop you tried to pass?

I don't know what you mean bruh..

It's obviously fluid. There's gonna be injuries/benchings/cold spells/chemistry shake ups/doghouses etc

Jägr would certainly get minutes. Maybe even the benefit of the doubt to start with

I just meant in the Interest of full disclosure, pc would have to be sure to say the development of our young players to surround mcdavid is priority 1. That said, you might be one of the first guys sitting. And a hall of famer like him deserves that honesty.
Hell, pc stated as much when he addressed why he wasn't gonna make many changes/additions this offseason. He wants to see internal development and what the nurses/slepyshev etc can do. Not even saying it's the right move per se, but it makes some sense both economically and chemistry wise

I think the PP is where I'd be the most hesitant to run Jagr as that's prime time to develop youth. Easy minutes where mistakes aren't the end of the world and easy to build confidence. He certainly doesn't crack the 1st unit, but even on the 2nd unit he'd be have competition.

Totally see where you're coming from, and that's why I initially suggested Upshall.

I would think that Upshall would understand better the realities of his position and the fact that if he was signed it would be strictly for depth purposes. I wouldn't think he'd have any possible pride issues, like I can see happening with Jagr and Iginla, and I don't have any issues with Upshall's game.

Should Puljujarvi have to be sent to the AHL, I'd like to see an experienced player like Upshall as 4RW over Kharia and Pakarinen, and then have Kassian moved up the lines. Perhaps I'm overthinking the importance of the 4th line, but it just bugs me for some reason.

Fuuuuuuck that. Dirty plug with little tangible to offer. I'd much rather give the time he'd likely demand to our young players so they're able to learn as they go.

I agree... just saying he was a RW option. I would take Iggy or Jagr in a heartbeat.

I just think the narrative would go a bit nuts if you guys signed jägr and played a non-jaromir powerplay and that was losing points in the standings because they weren't producing.

I'm just addressing the suggestion that Jägr signs and accepts below ten minutes a night.

His training and preparation would impact the team either way! Every team that has had Jägr seems pretty adamant about his positive influence.

I would say that's pretty dang accurate, Vegas might even finish ahead of the Canucks.
