You anticipated correctly lol but Fair enough, I should have also specified in today's NHL / salary cap era. Id like to resign Wayne, but let's be honest, he doesn't deserve any kind of team discount with how he's performed, and at the time of his free agency status it could be his last opportunity to cash in big for the first time in his career. - arichardson22
Of course, he's been playing under a low market deal for a player of his caliber but nobody forced him to sign that deal. He may be looking to cash in on a big money long term deal in his next contract if he can command that. If that's the case then the Flyers have a decision to make. As I said earlier, I don't view Simmonds as a player that is worth an 8 year deal now, let alone a year from now. |

"Talking to a source very close and the talks are still ongoing, however the Habs keep wanting to move Galchenyuk and the Flyers want Pacioretty. The Flyers won't give Sanheim for Galchenyuk and that is the the chief target for the Habs." - EK
This does not make any sense and would make me mad if it did happen. I know the source. Man he really knows how to post click bait stuff. |

While I don't think it's true, and also would be upset, trading for Patches makes a Simmonds trade more digestible
But regardless, I don't want to trade Sanheim. |

I don't know. He is really pushing this Sanheim to the Habs thing. just not sure why they wouldn't want Galchenyuk and are really trying to get Pacioretty. To me the trade makes no sense.

I'm not going to get into that. I anticipated this would be your next reply. The history of the NHL is long. Do I honestly have to prove that there are many examples of players that signed long term deals later in their careers that turned out to be good deals.?There are certainly some risks involved. That doesn't mean that you automatically decline re-signing a player in that situation. - MJL

With all the talk of how Montreal needs scoring, wouldn't a forward go back to them instead of Sanheim and a pick? |

Okay, what's real and what isn't? If the Flyers are talking to the Habs about a star, I want Galchenyuk over Pacioretty. Both are talented but I want the younger guy. |

The Habs used their top young defensive prospect to improve their scoring up front with the Drouin trade. So obviously their next move would be to trade their top scorer for a defensive prospect and a pick. |
