Re-evaluate at the end of the 2019 season.
That is the most logical answer to all of this.

Isn't he already a bust because he didn't dominate at development camp? |

The time frame for a decision to be made is earlier than that. Most likely next Summer.

Since he didn't play his value is at an all time low. If I learned anything in economics is that you always sell low. |

I'd like to come out and say now that my whole line of thinking (i.e. opening up to a possible trade scenario) happens next season, not this season. Guess I didn't really say that did I.
No, I would not trade Simmonds this year, absolutely not. |

I think it's being generated more by the hum drum part of the off season and just looking for something to talk about.

If Giroux is meh this year and Patrick shows to be a mature player then i might look to move Giroux first. - J35Bacher
Yeah honestly, this is a do-or-die year for Giroux. |

Mordy I just compared Schenn and Simmer's possession stats and although I'm not as good at you and Mono at them they are remarkably similar |

Career 50% CF and CFrel of -4ish%. G/60 he hovers 0.8-1. P/60 around 1.5.
5v5 he's rough. Clearly it's offset by his PP skill though. - Giroux_Is_God

Some of the reasoning for trading Simmonds is what I have an issue with. - MJL
The only real reason to trade him is if he prices himself out of Hexy's comfort zone for Dollars or term or BOTH!
The other reason is if you get a Schenn return, Two first and perhaps a younger player back, a prospect or on an ELC with some upside.
Or getting someone like Druin. A basically unproven guy for a known 30 goal scorer.
Just spit balling here. Throwing out random thoughts that roll through my head.
We have no idea what Hexy thinks nor will we have any clue when it happens. I don't see him walking away for nothing at the end of his deal. Either he re-ups or gone for a big haul.

Two things. You can sell below cost if you make it up in volume!
I had a boss that had a picture on his wall of two bums on a park bench. The caption was " I was the low bidder on every job"!
good economics.
good thing you are a DR.

Well, in a corporate setting, you can sell low as long as you don't care about everyone else at the company.
We have a sales guy who sold a $150,000 analyzer for $60,000. When asked why, he replied, "I sell so much that I'm allowed to give whatever discounts I want." That speaks to corporate management, but just shows that you can be a very successful sales guy by selling low if all you care about is your commission and nothing else. |

In my opinion there are a number of legitimate reasons to consider a trade of Simmonds.
