if MB make a move, it's for a top LD or good Centers... Giroux Couturier ? in D i don't see anything that can help the habs..

I don't see how the Habs will improve their team. they traded their best asset outside the NHL and what they have left outside the NHL isn't very desireable. If they trade Pacioretty, for example, it just leaves another hole to fill just to improve another area. Imo Habs should have went full rebuild but they're going for it now with very little in the cupboard to improve the team now and definitely in the future

Totally agree so the only thing what makes sense is Giroux and maybe a deal for Duchene all going to Montreal.Sanheim must be a joke after best D-prospect left for

Giroux may be the one Habs are targeting. But he's not the player he was a few years ago either.

COL need a d-men in return in the deal... Montreal can't offer anything after the TB trade and markov lost to KHL.. PHI have Provorov and Sanheim but i dont think they want to trade Provorov, so it came down to Sanheim.. maybe a 3 way deal ?

to Montreal : Duchene + Couturier ?
To Colorado : Sanheim + MTL player or prospect ?
To Philly : Galchenyuk + COL player or prospect ?

I don't see how a player (who is admittedly talented) like Galchenyuk who works his way into the the dog house of the last two Canadians coaches could succeed in the system that Hakstol runs.

The Colorado player better be one he'll of a player or Hextall would laugh hysterically at that proposal.

Because they're Ek's two favourite teams silly.

Even though I think this deal does not make much sense for either team, it shows that Hextall is willing to move a D prospect at the right price

Eh, it's most likely a made up rumor regardless; it doesn't show anything. Hexy hasn't shown he's willing to move a D prospect until he actually does, which he hasn't (yet).

To MTL: Giroux
To PHI: Galchenyuk + Duchene
To COL: Sanheim + Gudas + MTL 1st + PHI 3rd

Philly gets depth and scoring more in line with their window opening up in a few years, as well as clearing space for young defensemen to come up.

Colorado settles for a promising young D, a warm D body to fill their roster and stockpiles the draft.

Montreal gets a french canadien center and captain to try to win now (and coincidentally they have 8.5 M in cap space)

Giroux is from Ontario...i wouldn't sacrifice Galchenyuk for a declining overpaid Giroux. The last 3 seasons he went from 73 pts to 67 and 58. Even Bergevin can see the trend.

Nobody is targeting Giroux. there is nothing to talk about so EK is doing what he can to generate hits, nothing more.

He might not be declining. Fact is he doesnt play with much talent and he has had a few lingering injury issues. I mean in his 93 point season he went from playing with Jagr and JVR\Hartnell(In his prime) to Voracek and Schenn\Raffl\Weal. That is quite the downgrade. Schenn is a 2nd line player and he was a poor man's Hartnell. His main contribution to the team was one timing a pass from Giroux. He did play well with Couturier though and that is where he actually had to work for the puck. Voracek is no Jagr. He had a great season that year as well. He overachieved. Maybe he could replicate that again if he would shoot more often but he always seems to pass now rather than taking the shot.

Giroux woukd do well plying with a sniper like Patches IMO

Right now giroux is a nightmare what he's become. He's steadily declining. VDV was scoring more efficiently than him. Full blown nightmare
