Because then by default you are putting out your 4th line after every PP.

Unless you want to double shift one of them.

When the first unit scores it's not like it takes a long time. ROR plays 21:00+ minutes a night anyway. I really don't think it's a problem.

Probably not an issue, but I wouldn't want my top 3 centers on one unit. You could go from having that unit out for a 1:30 second shift to a face off in your end etc.

I guess it depends on the lines.

If Sam is center, we really do have a decent group of forwards. Still need one of Nylander or Middlestadt to turn out to be really good

Baptiste/Eichel/Pominville
Kane/O'Reilly/Okposo
Pouliot/Reinhart/Bailey
Girgensons/Larsson/Rodrigues

How hard does the PP work anyway? They just kind of skate in lazy circles, and if it gets cleared more than once they come off the ice anyway. It's really not a big deal at all. It's not like all 3 centers on the PK, that would be a terrible idea given how hard the PK works.

I come on here to talk hockey, etc
Some others come on here just to "stir the pot" and just act like jerks
If that makes me the 15 year old,
then I guess that's your opinion

I'm not the one that just randomly lashes out at ppl though

Homie, good call on Boldin. Took awhile, but the ship finally came in. Also, you were the first to hype Mahomes out of anyone I heard and he wound up being the 2nd QB taken. Hopefully he gets some PT this year (or not) and my Bills Playoffs/KC top 5 pick exacta battleship docks

Jets QB can't stop hitting reporters with errant passes, gets thrown out of practice for repeatedly incorrectly breaking the huddle. They also lost their #1 receiver for the season because of herniated disk in his neck.

The Dolphins are so desperate for a QB they signed Jay Cutler.

But the Bills are the 3 win team. Right...

Moving the PGA Championship to May is an underhanded way to get players to not skip out on the Olympics next time around. True or False?

partially true

they moved the players championship down here to May a while back

they want to wrap up the fed ex cup before football starts, which IMO is the bigger issue

plus they now play a lot of tourneys in the fall after the fed ex cup already

Few players in NHL history have rivalled Bergeron’s ability to drive possession, actually. There’s a case to be made he’s the greatest defensive forward ever. Bergeron’s three Selkes tie him with Datsyuk, Guy Carbonneau and Jere Lehtinen for second-most all-time. Carbonneau won his third Selke at 32, Datsyuk at 31 and Lehtinen at 29. Bergeron won his third at 29, and he’s 31 now, fresh off a second-place finish in the 2016 vote. When asked if he knew who holds the Selke record, Bergeron nodded. He has Bob Gainey, the man with four Selkes, on the mind. Gainey is widely regarded as the gold standard for defensive forwards, but how would he compare to Bergeron if we applied modern statistics? There was no Corsi or Fenwick in Gainey’s era, which spanned from 1973-74 to 1988-89. The best we can do is evaluate him using hockey-reference.com’s defensive point shares. The formula is downright headache-inducing to laypeople like us, so here’s a simplified version: it factors in a player’s position, the league goals-per-game rate of his era and his plus-minus cross-referenced with a team’s goals for and against to create an approximation of defensive impact. “Point shares” refer to how many points in the standings the player was responsible for. Gainey gained 18.1 over 16 seasons for an average of 1.13. Bergeron has gained 21.2 in 12 seasons for an average of 1.77.
Bergeron thus measures up quite nicely to Gainey, who is, of course, in the Hall of Fame. Bergeron only has the one Stanley Cup to Gainey’s five, but Gainey played on one of the greatest dynasties in sports history with the late ’70s Canadiens. Bergeron has the Olympic resume and is a better offensive player than Gainey ever was. His body of work is starting to look Hall-worthy, and he has plenty of good years left. Hockey researcher and history Iain Fyffe has developed ‘The Inductinator,’ a system that predicts Hall of Fame berths, and he believes Bergeron must catch Gainey in Selkes to have a shot.

Ok, but even with all of that, his career +/- is 134

He's currently 14th best in that category. Now, it's obviously not a perfect stat, but it's not like he's the run away leader.

Vane, Nash, Stasny and Eric Staal all have better points per game

If Eric staal isn't a HOFer (he isn't), then Bergeron isn't

Gainey has 4 Selkes and has 501 pts in 1160 gp(never more than 47 in a season) He's in the HOF.

Bergeron has 4 Selkes and has 671 pts in 899 gp. Barring injuries he'll likely play more game, have close to 1000 pts, and have one more Selke. He'll likely join Gainey in the HOF.

At his current rate, he'd have to score at the same rate as he is now for 7.5 more years to hit 1000 points, at which time he'd be 39. No way that happens, let alone 900 points. He's really good defensively, but in no way good enough offensively to be HOF. I'll drop it as i'm definitely in the minority, but this guy is hall of very good, not hall of fame imo

RE: Sam Reinhart. My *hope* is that he will have a breakout year due to the fact he will be able to focus 100% on hockey. Let us not forget he has been a full time college student (albeit likely online?) during the course of his NHL career. How many kids graduate college by the age of 21 while having a full time job on the side?

I'm of the opinion that Reihart is more similar in talent and skill set to ROR than others. I also believe he could hit the same numbers as ROR IF/when he decides he wants it bad enough ... we saw 2 different Reino in his 1st 2 years. 1st year he was driven and dedicated and rose from a 4th liner to begin the season to a top 6 who had a magical presence on the ice being in the right spot at the right time. His second season drifted away from that dedication and resulted in a flat production year, but also resulted i. Being called out by his roommate for just being happy to be in the N.
It is completely up to him. Personally I want to believe the change in coach will rekindle his spirit and he will breakout to a 55 point season...25/30 go go on from there to peak at a 65 pit. player for years.
Said another way, he needs to up his compete level...drive to steal the puck away and drive possession.

By putting Gainey in the HOF, IMO Jere Lehtinen should get in
