But James Tanner has told me that Drew Doughty isn't really all that good.

I have an ELO tribute in the works called Electric Lynne Orchestra that should be hitting the theaters in Mid fall.

We will be playing all the ELO hits plus Wilbury's and stuff Jeff Lynne produced like Tom Petty's Full Moon Fever, In to The Great Wide Open, and George Harrison's Cloud Nine.

We will be doing everything live, no vocal tracks.

So far its sounding pretty damned awesome.

- MBFlyerfan

huh?

I saw (Jeff Lynn's) ELO at Radio City last September. Great show, but short.

Wow that's impressive. I know nothing of the technical aspects of music but is ELO stuff difficult to play?
- MJL

The music is pretty simple. It's the sheer amount of music and vocals that is difficult to duplicate. We have 8 people in the band all singing. LOL

I doubt he will get a bridge deal. Especially if he improves this season. The Flyers will lock him up 8 years at 56 million.
- MBFlyerfan

I'll guess that's a little light.

Provy's too good to bridge. I'd be scared of the contract he could demand at age 24 or 25.

Hextall should make use of the lack of limits on signing bonuses in the current CBA to make a long term deal at ~$6m more attractive to him. Ghost got 41% of this contract as bonuses, so going to 50% for Provorov shouldn't be a problem.

- Feanor

I am not scared of the contract he could demand then. I think his point totals will always be kept lower due to Ghost on the PP, depending on if they work Provy into it.

Provy will be here for a long time. More than 8 years. I am more worried about what his third contract would look like.

Either way. I dont think it matters too much. He's really freaking good and I don't care if he is overpaid a bit, I just want him here for the long haul

One of the benefits of of signing Provorov to 8 years right away is that they can sign him to another 8 years right after and he will still be of pretty manageable age (if the CBA keeps 8 year deals)

Doughty is also a really good example of what might happen if they sign him for 8 right after the ELC.

It will be very interesting to see if Doughty or Karlsson gets more. Points cost money.

Jeff Lynn is the coolest looking mother(frank)er of all time. Close second? Syb from Boston.

Some of their songs are pretty simple, some are more complicated. It's getting the vocals down that is the hard part, but MB is a fantastic vocalist, so I know he will nail it.

I occasionally break out Telephone Line and/or Can't Get It Out of My Head when I play solo, however I bring the vocals down about an octave or so. One of these days, I need to teach my regular singer these tunes, her voice would be perfect for them.

So far we have completed Living Thing, Telephone Line, Do Ya, Strange Magic, Sweet Talkin Woman, Turn To Stone, Evil Woman.

Getting ready to tackle Don't Bring Me Down, and Mr. Blue Sky hoping we don't run out of voices to cover all the overlapping three part harmonies. That song is insane lol

In my opinion Gostisbehere hasn't been around long enough to make that list or any Flyers all time list. I'd go with Timmonen or Garry Galley who had some big years offensively as a Flyer.
- MJL

Timonen in my mind was better than Streit and Ghost. Timonen I felt had the patience and maturity Streit and Ghost do not. I also believe Timonen limited shorted chances.

Man, that's the truth. The harmonies are by far the most daunting part of doing ELO.
