The one thing the Canes have in their favour is it looks like the Islanders and the Sens will relocate before them.

It gives the Canes a reprieve of a couple more years

The islanders will get something done I believe.. there's an old racetrack on long island that's open for redevelopment.. not sure if anythings happening there but with their storied history I can't see them moving. As for the Sens Eugene will probably sell in the next 5-10 years but they need a building downtown somewhere. Not sure if Lebreton Flats is still an option but I hope they stay in ottawa. Small market teams in Canada are what hockey's all about. Carolina seems most likely to relocate. They are the cheapest team and probably one of the least profitable.. I'm not sure who's idea it was to put a hockey team in basketball country. I think Calgary has just as likely of a chance to move as Ottawa.. People here absolutely hate paying taxes and fans seem to think the saddledome is still a good enough building. But what they aren't counting on is how much Bettman doesn't give a poop about what they think.
