WTF is this sh!t - DeflatedPucks
Clearly he means Guentzel and a 5th rounder for Lehtera and 7th Overall because the Flyers suck. |

Good job.
I've considered Perreault and since I don't think WPG wants to get rid of him, I think it will take someone like Sprong to get him.
Same goes for most of the others, so yes, good trade proposals, IMO. I'm not as enamored with Berglund to offer that much.
Pretty sure Sprong has considerable value, not sure about ZAR. - T-Train
29 years old, signed for under 4 mil for a 4 more years, hovers around 30 points or more, and has solid shot metrics. Played with Steen and Perron mostly, I think playing with Hags and Kessel would be an upgrade at wings for him. |

Eh, they're a bubble team. They'll pick between 13th and 18th next year.
But Guentzel for Lehtera and 2018 first (top-5 protected) would be inviting. |

That would be too many $4M swedish asses on one team. Send them home! |

Kessel, yes, but not hands of stone Hags. I would expect a little more production playing alongside Steen and Perron, who are pretty decent wingers. Seems like a lot for a 30 point player.
As for Perreault, I think WPG might be more inclined to trade Little since he only has one year left. We would need to move out a (small) salary in that case. But then maybe we don't offer as much since he is a pending UFA (not to mention his recent injury woes).
Winnipeg is one of many teams on the cusp where I think it will be hard to pry away a key player for a prospect. |

Unfortunately for PHI that makes no sense for PIT. |

I know. The original post was what's known as "a joke." When you decided to find minor offense with it, I decided to roll with it. |

He also directed Spider Man (the first Toby McGuire one, the good one). As far as "technical" directors go, he's at the head of the class. - jmatchett383
He also hasn't directed a good film since Spielberg. |

Berglund's also always injured and I'm pretty sure he's currently out half the season. I'm not trading Sprong for that. He's a good player when healthy but he's dangerously encroaching on Joffrey Lupol territory. |

Hags is fine, he USUALLY hovers above 30 points, and his shot metrics are awesome.
Hagelin>Perron
Kessel>Steen (only because of Kessel's elite PP play, but I think at ES they're similar.)

Minority Report is good and I haven't seen Bridge of Spies, but I wouldn't consider any movie on that list as a legitimate great. I think Spielberg succeed during a time when movies were just not all that good and directors didn't take the story telling telling risks they do today. I think in the modern era, he's not on the same level as a lot of other directors, so I don't like christening him the greatest director of all time. - Victoro311
Spielberg is literally the godfather of movie making. The Gretzky, the Ruth. No one else even comes close to his entire body (And range) of work. He's got a ton of sci-fi, schindlers list (whatever you want to call that), then humorous movies like catch me if you can, and a billion other things.
He doesn't have to be the best today. Dudes 70.

Sign me up for trading hornqvist and signing jagr. Grabs an asset, cuts salary, and I believe Jagr is still the better overall player. Two things we need grabbing a pick for hornqvist and cutting a little salary. |

Sign Mike Fisher
Sprong+1st for Mathieu Parreault
ZAR+DP+1st for Nick Shore
ZAR+2nd for Nic Dowd
Sprong+1st for Zach Smith
DP+ZAR+1st for Patrik Berglund - j.boyd919
Not sure if this is legitimate or in zest, but ZAR isn't a tradable asset. We need to sign college free agents. If we start trading them before they play a season for us they will not sign with us again. |

Played 82 games last year, 2015-16 was the only year he missed significant time. The year before he missed 5 games, and 4 games, only missed 1 game combined the 3 seasons before those. |

It's one player. Plenty of the Pens players came from college and succeeded. Trading one isn't going to hurt anything. |

I like the idea of Shore but I think the Stars are short on centers. I guess it depends on whether they play Spezza at C or W.
For a lot of these teams on the cusp, I think it will take a roster player like Horny to get a deal done.
What team out there is long on centers but short on wingers? Hags and Sheary could be in the mix, too.
I still like the idea of pick(s) / prospect to Vegas for one of Lindberg or Karlsson. Neither are proven but I think both could handle 3C and have a lot of upside. |

Is that standard deviation calculated on the entire sample or is it the standard error of the mean? - jmatchett383
THE STANDARDIZED 0-10 RATING SYSTEM
In order to convert all metrics into a common currency, they are standardized and scaled on a 0-10 scale (mean = 5, standard deviation from mean = 2). A rating of 5 represents league average performance at a skater's position. Approximately 70% of skaters will fall between ratings of 3 and 7.
WHICH SEASONS ARE INCLUDED?
The charts encompass the last three NHL seasons (2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17). The seasons are weighted 44%-33%-22% based on temporal proximity. These weights were chosen based on findings in this piece on forecasting with Marcels.
