Ringu, Session 9 and The Event Horizon for me

Babadook is sooooo underrated. I actually love that movie. It Follows is weird as shot and just watched it this morning. Weird ghost STD poop. Cabin in the Woods I have not seen.

Cabin in the Woods isn't a traditional horror movie but it's super unique and outrageously well done. Also I'm a massive Joss Whedon fan.

He hasn't made a good movie since the turn of the century. He's totally fizzled out and I 100% hold that against him when evaluating his talent.

Not yet I dont think, but yeah its pretty non-traditional horror that builds up tension with very little of the cheap and cliche jump scares.

He's a perfect person to say yes to directors nowadays. He's always been a very good director, but his talent comes in not fine tuning others genius.

I haven't seen it so I guess I can't call it bad since it has Tom Hanks. Then again, I haven't enjoyed him in a movie in a while either.

Ringu - Japanese horror classic. Japanese horror revolves around the inevitability of doom instead of the North American "Fight" for survival. Which makes it interesting.

Session 9 - A bunch of asbestos cleaners go to an abandoned mental hospital and one by one start to disappear on the job. One of the members finds session tapes of a girl with multiple personalities and slowly discovers what happened to her.

Event Horizon - That guy you love from Jurassic Park is back! IN SPACE. A ship that traveled through a blackhole a bunch of years ago has popped back out of nowhere and is flying dead in space. The crew of an approaching vessel was sent to find out what happened to it. The ship returned...but what changed?!

So, if I remember right, Event Horizon was the one with Lawrence Fishbourne and was amazing. Ringu I remember seeing but was drunk. Will rewatch it. And session 9 sounds really intriguing. Thanks.
