The Dark Knight Rises (frank)ed everything up. I (frank)ing hated that one. Bane sucked. Was so underwhelming and annoying. And there was no way Batman would have survived that Nuke. - j.boyd919
This. And how the hell did he make the trek back from the pit to the city in like a week with no money and no food?
I can get past Morgan Freeman being the world's greatest mechanical/electrical/chemical/materials engineer in the world, which allows for most of the first 2 movies to fly. But yeah, the 3rd one stretched it too thin. |

Agreed. Although the first Iron Man may be better than Batman Begins (which I love), the Nolan trilogy showed the world what you could do with a comic book character. Had it not been for his trilogy (and the X-Men franchise), you wouldn't have the assault of comic book movies we've had recently (and Legion, which is the most fascinating TV show on). - jmatchett383
Iron Man and Dark Knight trilogy helped the world swerve away from over done zombie movies and buddy comedies. MCU is absolutely fantastic and continues to pump out phenomenal films. |

Well, yes, me and the South wouldn't get along in general. But for a 1-week visit, it was really fun. that's the best way to put it, it was just fun. - jmatchett383
Oh hell yeah. Every buddy and family member that visits ends up saying they'd love to live here based on how much fun they had in their week or two down here. I have to remind them that they may have to pick which cousin looks the best to them and to start hating minorities if they actually might move down here long term. If you don't live in Nashville proper, there's a decent minority of poop head, racist, super Christian, super right bumholes that can ruin it for anyone not of their own. That and I hate not having more than two and a half seasons. |

Completely disagree with all you said besides the Nuke. Except that it's a comic movie and super heros survive the stupidest poop. I felt the third entry was more light hearted by design to bring back a sense of head nodding to ominous villian music and wide eyes to intense fight scenes.
Bane may be the best super villian of all time based on his crazy character. Not the best actual bad guy by far, but he ranks up there in terms of hot damn, that guy needs to be taken down. - RafiDRW
To me, he was the least interesting villain of the Batman franchise. Menacing? Sure. But IMO, Batman is all about the contrast in Bruce Wayne and his current opponent. I thought Bane's personality was too close to Batman's and it made for a boring flick. Whereas the Joker, Riddler, Scarecrow, Two-face, Croc, Penguin.. they are all such stark in their contrast to Batman. |

Good point and agree on the fact that Bane was basically a less whiny, more evil Bruce Wayne. But that voice and the writing for his lines was fantastic. Loves the background too. |

Any interest in Galchenyuk? - j.boyd919
Yeah, he was brought up before he re-signed. I think he is too much of a one-way player, especially if the plan is to have Kessel on the third line. I want the new 3C to defend well. He also doesn't play PK and seems to be more of a goal scorer than a facilitator.
For all the grief that Sakic gets, I think Bergevin is worse (as is Holland) and can be taken in a trade. I just wouldn't want Galchenyuk. |

Oof this is a rough take haha. Eating Bane over Ledger's Joker is tough to justify. |

Catch me if You Can was SO good - j.boyd919
It was entertaining. Not a classic. I list it as important for spielberg because its outside of his core competency. I think its important to show an ability to different type of movies. |

His voice?!?! It was Sean Connery speaking through a tin can telephone!! It was (frank)ing awful! hahahahah |

This is why I said super villian. Guess I should clarify by over the top cheese but with pure (frank) that not touching that personality. Joker is the quintessential perfect villain and Heath Ledger played the best acting performance of any character in any comic movie IMO. |

I hate every movie fad more than the last one. Teen flicks, Zombies, now comic heroes. Toby McSpidy and the first two of the Batman trilogy were good, zero interest in the rest of the mutant animalmen movies.
Did people forget to add Stanley Kubrick to that list? His movies are older but in the same spirit. 2001 A Space Odyssey, Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Dr. Strangelove, The Shining? |

That's what made it great!
Genre changing? (frank) no!
Catchy as all (frank) and perfect for spreading the genre to other people based on pop culture references and imitations? Yessir. |

And I love Tom Hardy. Bronson is one of my favorite movies in a while. Easily Hardy's best performance in my mind. Have you seen it?

Kubrick is amazing. FMJ is probably my favorite war movie. Then Saving Private Ryan. |

Kubrick is a (frank)ing genius. Watched the Shining for the first time this week. Actually a creepy ass movie for a guy who is 31. Love that poop. 2001 is up there with Star Wars as the perfect sci-fi. As is almost every other film he's done for that genre. Plus, "two things come from Texas ... and I don't see any horns" (paraphrased). One of the best quotes ever. |

Nope. I have a lot of tier two movies to watch still. I didn't start expanding my mental library until about ten years ago outside of high end mainstream. Now, it's the biggest challenge to catch up especially with my career and family. |

He's not my favorite but he definitely has claim to the GOAT. I don't particularly like Space Odyssey, but that's definitely a movie that didn't depreciate with its effects. As an IR nerd, Dr. Strangelove is one of my all time favoirtes |

I never recognize Tom Hardy in his roles. I remember the first time I found out that Mad Max, Fitzgerald, Bane, and Bronson were all the same dude. Hell you even find out he was in Dunkirk. |

The Revenant, Blackhawk Down, Rock n Rolla, Band of Brothers, I really enjoyed the Drop as well, and Peaky (frank)in Blinders. |

He's up there. I think his best movies are too old for most people today to enjoy but at the time were groundbreaking. Ive tried to watch space odyssey but loses me after ten minutes.
Modern directors get the advantage of special effects but also in their minds know every genius plot device etc. earlier directors had to invent. |

So Dumoulin got more money than Pesce, huh? - BINGO!
Dumo definitely looks overpaid by comparison (and by any objective measure). Not a gross overpayment, but an overpayment nonetheless.
Carolina is putting together a really nice team. Amazing how far under the cap they are even after their inexplicable contract to Williams. I know things will look differently next year when a couple of big extensions kick in and many RFAs get new contracts. |

Think they really just wanted a guy to bring some leadership in and were willing to pay whatever it took to get it, as long as it was just cash.
Could be that Williams provides the fun-loving kick-in-the-ass the team needs. |
