To a degree, I get where they're coming from
He wasn't on the level of Lundqvist & the league's very best except for a few years... but he was still a really good player
Consistently a top10 goalie in his prime with us

The hate on him has gone way too far

- jdfitz77

He also played the majority of his career under one of the worst NHL defensive coaches in Lindy Ruff

He's Jon Quick minus a Cup. A great few years and grossly average to slightly above average the rest of the time.

I really like Miller, but let's not pretend he's something he's not.

I'll never forget the interview after he let in that dribbler from Crosby and gifted Canada the gold. Something like he didn't calculate Crosby taking a shot so quickly. Total head case. He looked about as good as Michael Leighton on that. Totes magotes man. Big players make big shots in big games. He didn't have it.

Been trying to get a little deeper knowledge about this kid Beaulieau and what he could bring to the table.

So he's a 24 year old kid who has rather stagnated development in the Habs system. Apparently lost confidence after having been touted, at 19 years old, as a very smooth skating offensive PPQB destined for the top 4, and possibly even top pair qualities if he could continue his offensive development and learn the responsibilities on the d-side of the blue line.

Between 19 and 24, he struggled, and has even been a healthy scratch in MTL's last playoff games of 2017.

The potential, and the development arc, are very familiar to me. He sounds just like "Player S."

Who is Player S?

Sorry, but you've been dismissed as an expert witness in the matter after you mistook the victim for Macaulay Culkin.

I'm thinking Casey Nelson's career to date more closely parallels Campbells to this point. Anyone who is old enough to remember Campbell's career would remember how long it took him to establish himself. He was terrible every time he was called up.

Remember all those DB's who were torched by Tom Brady in the Super Bowl?

They just don't have it in them to win big games

He was better than "slightly above average"

Downplaying him like that is just as bad as those who say he was a top3 goalie every year

in general,
Miller was a top10 goalie
In the next group down from the game's best
Guys like Bryzgalov, Hiller, Backstrom, Niemi...
they were "slightly above average"
Miller was better than them

Again...
not Vezina quality every year, but the next group below

Where was Parise in OT? Why didn't he win it before Crosby did?

Just didn't have that big game mentality I guess

Yeah.

They're not even in OT if it wasn't for Luongo totally (frank)ing up trying to catch the puck with a minute left in regulation.

And you're a total hater
What a horrible post u just made

Miller made DOZENS of amazing saves to even get the USA to that point in the tourney, & was amazing in that game as well
USA was dominated & should've lost by 5

Well, Luongo didn't have that big game mentality until Crosby scored
