Hyman (3m), Matthews (10m), Nylander (7m)
Leivo (3m), Tavares (10m), Marner (7m)
Koma (3m), Kadri (4.2m), Brown (3.8m)
Rychel (2m), Goat (1m), Sosh (2m)
Something like that?
$56M in all forwards, and those are long term numbers...say everyone on 8yr deals.
As the CAP goes up over the term that could be a powerful line up for a long time....especially the last 4 years when the CAP is over $80m.
We have Reilly, Zaits, Gards (new deal could be a Rielly deal) and Andersen tied up on decent deals. Liljegren will be entry level and we could probably save money on some of the wingers with rookies on ELCs.
It's over the CAP now and then with bonus money...definitely over....but the Leafs have a CAP Genius Bar in-house so if I can bang this out in 2 minutes on HB, I'm sure they could make it all work.
*Disclaimer, this was just an exercise in CAP. I am not saying JT is coming to Toronto but that they could make it work money wise.
I can also see it happening money wise, especially since you gave Brown almost $4Mil and Leivo $3Mil these are two are not getting that kind of money. Brown will get around $3Mil maybe $3.1Mil, no more he only had 36 Pts this season that is not a very impressive number considering he scored 20 goals. Where are the assists? Look at his line mates they all had a better goal/assist ratio way better than he did, I'd say $3Mil. Leivo will be lucky if he gets half of that, more likely around $1.2 to$1.3 which is double his salary now, he hasn't shown anything to this point and he will be 24 soon if he isn't already, that is not an age where prospects all of a sudden jump up and improve drastically. He's pretty much what he's going to be. That in itself is $3Mil per season extra cash available. That plus the cap going up pays for one of Nylander or Marner. Now you are left with a scenario that the Blackhawks had, 2 guys around $10Mil each and another guy around $6-7Mill and the rest of the supporting staff. I agree it can be done, especially since the Blackhawks did it when the cap was much lower, with the cap going up each and every year I don't see it not working now or into the future. The Canadian $ is due to go up a few points and that automatically affects the cap in the upward manner. Hell let's go after JT, I mean poop can you say DYNASTY.
