I hear you, he's definitely been pretty shaky at times. He did look a little better post return near the e d of the season though. Specifically on the PP, I remember him walking the line and rushing it in.

Hopefully he gets it together this season.

- Whiskey-Tango

Agreed. I would like to see him be an undisputed PP defenseman that is decisive, mobile and move the puck quickly. I hope that he doesnt look at MDZ/Stecher/Edler as 'depth' but competition for a job he really wants that that gets rid of some of that timid play we saw when he had the role last year

Hansen is a good player. Not past his prime yet
- VANTEL

I would not be shocked at all to see Hansen back here once the Sedins are re-signed

You could fill a roster of forwards with Canucks from last year who could not
- Redmile247

Funny thing is that your all-troll Canuck line-up would probably beat our current roster...

I am trying to not read too much into the quotes, but nothing he said gives me confidence that he will be much improved over last season. Improved skating will help, but his decision making was always questionable and likely the reason he was never given the 'green light'

I also just realized that his personality reminds me of the defenseman version of Eddie Lack

- WhiteLie

although I agree....what is he supposed to say? I have been working on my brain and reading books so I don't screw up all the time?

That's enough to go back and finish the last 2 years of his degree AND buy himself a sweet ride....school will always be there. hockey wont.

Twenty years ago today, the Canucks announced that they had signed Mark Messier to a five-year deal worth $20-million

Not sure, something about joining the rush and taking chances, but still making sure they dont get burned. Its a little different when Tanev says he wants to add more offense, because we know he is smart defensively.

I fully acknowledge I am nitpicking, his personality wont let him talk the boring stuff, he's a kid that likes the flashy side of the game. I just hope he isnt being naive about his current situation - MDZ wasnt a depth signing, most of us have him bumping Hutton down the lineup and going coast to coast a few times wont change that

That was pretty obvious once we saw him dancing around singing "barby girl in a barby world" on stage in front of actual people...

Hutton on #Canucks low scoring blueline, "If we join the rush more, turn 3 on 2 into 4 on 2, we will generate more offense."

Hutton : "I have really been working on my 1st 3 strides this summer, want 2 be more explosive out of the corners and up the ice

Hutton : "If the opportunity is there, Travis will give the green light, I look forward to doing the coast to coast if I can.

Hutton on Del Zotto and Wiercioch signings : "Great, it adds depth to the blueline, huge picking up those guys.

- VANTEL

I have a feeling MDZ will be the top scoring D this year. What I am afraid of is JB seeing him as a leader and hanging on instead of leveraging that success into a top 60 pick.

Hossa too

Canucks can have a decent roster next year when they say adios to the Sedins.

Bo Boeser Granlund Sven will all be a year older . Bring back Hansen for three years , add Gagner to the mix. Then hopefully JV and Dahlen are ready and Goldobin.

- VANTEL

I think Sedins will be back next year on a per year contract. we literally have nobody to take the Role next year.
Gagner is not first line Center material. Neither is Bo. Not saying Sedins are but the alternative of having Gagner and Bo as your top 6 C is pretty scary.
Colorado last year had MacKinnon and Duchene as their top 2 and finished with 48 points. By comparison we are slightly better then them in D only. If we lose Sedins then be ready for a 40 point season.

You're a horrible human being for bringing up that waste of skins name.

I am surprised to remember that out was only four for million per year!

Sorry Don, I couldn't help myself.

Also why would Gagner be taking draws over Sutter?

Nighthawk, could you please post a mite realistic lineup?

Everything looks good except for Goblin. Most likely Green will give Virtanen a go on the 4th line to start the year.
