Maybe at one time Burrows was clutch but not the past 2-3 seasons. His leadership is what will be missed the most. Hansen on the other hand will be very tough to replace...versatile on all 4 lines in pretty much every way.

Hansen is a free agent at the end of this year

That is because we should have changed them out 4 years ago but we are a team that likes to hang on to things . Our top line goal production for the last two years has been about 30 goals below the average and we still talk about extending them

You do get free schooling for playing in the CHL ...you just have to attend on your own time ...after hockey ...so players who didn't make it but have service time in the chl can still get an education
- Redmile247

oh absolutely, I never said they didn't. They get 1 free year of tuition for every year played, but obviously just after hockey is done.

Hossa too

Canucks can have a decent roster next year when they say adios to the Sedins.

Bo Boeser Granlund Sven will all be a year older . Bring back Hansen for three years , add Gagner to the mix. Then hopefully JV and Dahlen are ready and Goldobin.

Hutton on #Canucks low scoring blueline, "If we join the rush more, turn 3 on 2 into 4 on 2, we will generate more offense."

Hutton : "I have really been working on my 1st 3 strides this summer, want 2 be more explosive out of the corners and up the ice

Hutton : "If the opportunity is there, Travis will give the green light, I look forward to doing the coast to coast if I can.

Hutton on Del Zotto and Wiercioch signings : "Great, it adds depth to the blueline, huge picking up those guys.

I am trying to not read too much into the quotes, but nothing he said gives me confidence that he will be much improved over last season. Improved skating will help, but his decision making was always questionable and likely the reason he was never given the 'green light'

I also just realized that his personality reminds me of the defenseman version of Eddie Lack

Or alternatively, his decision making was suspect due to Willie's conservatism. The kid can skate and carry the puck with the best of them, the problem was that he rarely did so and seemed to be more inclined to rush off a bad pass, like the rest of the D-corps in general.

The coast to coast was his go to in college, hopefully he does indeed get that "green light".

The coaching staff could have caused some hesitation/second guessing, but if he could jump up in an opportune moment or be capable of recovering, I think he would have been allowed. It just my opinion that he hasnt proved at this level to be a 'coast to coast' defenseman

I hear you, he's definitely been pretty shaky at times. He did look a little better post return near the e d of the season though. Specifically on the PP, I remember him walking the line and rushing it in.

Hopefully he gets it together this season.

You're a horrible human being for bringing up that waste of skins name.

I am surprised to remember that out was only four for million per year!

Sorry Don, I couldn't help myself.

He had 9 goals in each of his last two years. Doesn't sound like that will be too hard to fill
