Truer words have yet been spoken. Watching that goofy looking little (frank)er play in Oiler silks makes all the poop and abuse of the last decade entirely worth it. - Wildschwein

Oh I have poop ton of worries for this season. Top five for me are:
1) How far will Maroon regress? I doubt he'll score at the same rate as last year.
2) How will Strome adjust as an Oiler? Will he produce even half the amount of what we'd expect from Eberle?
3) How badly will Sekera's injury effect his play? Will he be able to perform as years previous?
4) Will Nuge rebound from a poopty year, or is what we saw last year all he has to offer?
5) Will Puljujarvi be able crack the lineup this year, or is the goofy (frank)er bound for the AHL?
That being said I'm not gonna dwell on them. What would be the point?
Also pretty much every other squad in the NHL would love to have the problem of hammering out an extension for a player like Draisaitl. Its a good problem to have and I won't lose any sleep over it. - Wildschwein

Exactly. It's like saying Nazem Kadri "learned" definitively how to "shutdown" McDavid because he did it in one game. - AdamFrench

Smartest manbearpig on the Buzz. And if another manbearpig ever shows his (frank) ugly face, I will slather him in KY and toss him to Jero, as sacrifice in my Lord of Larsson's name. |

Definitely stopped him scoring 50 goals ever again! - AdamFrench
I'm just responding to the fact that you said the meta would solve his game within one season. He had two years of less than 40 goals following that and the Caps had to form up a better 2nd unit. They lost to an 8th seed in the first round that year.
Also, this is a 6'4", 240lbs power sniper being compared to a 6'1" playmaker that uses speed to generate chances. Adaptability varies, and time will tell how much McDavid can adapt to the league meta. So far he has one great trick. |

Great post. Nuge is on the right path either way imo.
Chia could have got much more if Eberle hadn't hit a million posts last year.

Totally
Who cares about results ?
I only care about the appearance of effort. Buddy can run around like his hair is on fire and accomplish nothing.
But it's just so frustrating when In my biased estimation a guy appears to not 'care' even if he puts up quality numbers year after year
Essentially the NHL is akin to atom hockey. Participation, having fun and trying your best Is all that matters - HB77
Eberle accomplished half assing it and underachieving because of it

WTF?!?
Pork roll shall not receive that lofty label until it recieves Schwein's seal of approval, as has been ordained by Lord Larsson. |

Iggy seems pretty reasonable. You guys won one series against a team that limped into the playoffs and suddenly every hack writer in hockey is riding McDavid's pole every 2nd article. Most of you validate your opinions with that garbage. McDavid has one play of outskating the outside and you expect 15 years of dominance.
You guys can't stand a varying critical opinion, so you trash iggy's character and make assumptions beyond what he actually says until he's cynical about his own fanbase.
Flames fans may be a bunch of bumbling d!ckheads, but we're not cool aid drinking sheep like you guys. - fry

"Just" a 6'1 playmaker who skates faster than anyone in the league now (maybe in all history), has a great wristshot that he's adjusting to using more often (see shot totals as the season progressed) and hands as silky as your beloved Gaudreau. You seem to be of the mind that he's one-dimensional; that mind is wrong. |
