That's (frank)ing dumb. That's like you spending 6 months working on a garage but didn't gerbil the shingles on, then some guy comes in and doesn't the shingles in one weekend and gets all your credit. Come on, Bubba, you're better than that.
Lowe, Tambo and MacT spent the better part of a decade collecting the assets for Chia to play with....oh, and Connor McDavid.
Such a shallow argument, and completely ridiculous.

- Larsson_fan

Those guys were great at collecting assets and forgot to build a team... Don't act like they never had assets to deal around. The mishandled Chris Pronger trade that kicked off 10 years of ineptitude.

I've said before that in fairness Mac-T and Tembellini were handcuffed by Lowe and Katz behind the scenes. Yes Chiarelli had it easier but don't forget why the Oilers got McDavid.

(frank) that... if anybody says anything positive about Chiarelli "we're chugging jizz" or "fukin sheep"....
- Reveen.

Ummm....are you any different in how you treat posters who aren't so optimistic and somewhat critical of Chia?

I have to see a Reveen post that states " while I respect your opinion, and appreciate your well thought out reasoning, I disagree."

Seems not.

I never bothered to get personal and engage in mudslinging with him, but I disagreed with iggy a million times this past season and generally liked the way the team was trending.
But now that I think chia has made some missteps and bother to mention that yeah- maybe Connor mcdavid, draisaitl, a developed klefbom and cam talbot have made his job a little easier than mact had it, I'm "circle jerking with fry"

Fukin ridiculous

I've said amillion positive the things about chiarelli.

But from time to time I think he's made some errors.

I guess this makes me cynical.

Seriously- being in the middle isn't good enough for you it seems. But that's your problem I guess

I haven't. Do you not remember when the Oilers entered the season with only Nuge and Gordon as experienced centers? Do you remember the name I used to reference MacT? As bad as Eakins was....if we had Scotty Bowman as coach we still would have Mitch Marner at worst that season.

Ok Reveen, we've known eachother a long time but you are entering IBlewBrianBurke territory with your last few posts. You're at least better than that.

Do you guys enjoy this back-n-forth? Two sides accusing one another of "circle jerking" and "gargling jizz" (among other things) on loop ad infinitum. One side trashes the other for being closed-minded and unwilling to accept opposing points of view while simultaneously disparaging others for their different opinions. The other side responds by doubling down on their overtly combative tone in an effort to seemingly overpower their opposition.

This is how debates are handled by elementary school kids. Neither side is any less or more wrong at this point and- unless you actually enjoy arguing about the same point over and over again until insults start getting slung- then just don't engage.

And to those of you who insist on bringing it up every goddam time: go die.

Who fukin called out the Hall trade and threatened to go fan free agent ? I fukin hated that trade until I realized that we got a lesser player back but one that was a better fit for what we needed. It was a necessary evil.

I hated the Reinhart trade too....

As a whole I think Chia has done a solid job so far... he got results in the standings which is more than the previous regimes were able to do in the past 10 years.

OF course he did....he had a full deck to deal with. I like the Larsson trade too but there wasn't no way Mac t could have MAde that trade a year earlier.

I have asked before and will ask again....what should MAc T have done with his roster from draft day 2014 to the day he was canned?

What makes you cynical is coming in and preaching doom and gloom based on "what ifs" and completely ignoring anything positive that's happened.

I am in the middle ground...

Hall Trade - Hated the return and was pissed as hell but came around and saw the positives in it rather than still dwelling on it a year later.

Reinhart Trade - Just (frank)ing terrible.

Eberle Trade - Remains to be seen but I was soured on Eberle (if that doesn't make me a jizz chugger) and was underwhelmed with the return.

Maroon Trade - Brilliant

Kassian Trade - Brilliant

Talbot Trade - Brilliant (Giving Mac-T partial credit)

There is always some good with the bad but its sad that if anyone sees a positive with Chiarelli then Iggy and Jero to a lesser extent say "you're chugging his jizz" or "drinking the kool-aid"

I blame Eakins for ruining Yak and to a lesser extent Jultz... We should have kept Todd Nelson, he was turning things around for those two as well as Lander.

I actually share in those trade assessments.

50-50 on Lucic signing.
Like the Sekeras signing
Neither happen without McDavid
Hate the Russel contract.
Like the Jokinen signing
Still can't believe he didn't add a new veteran defender to the line up.

The other one got me banned a couple times so I felt it was safer to change it up a bit. Though, I guess I wouldn't be missing much even if I did get banned.

I'm on the fence with the Russell signing... I'm fine with the dollars just don't like the term but it is tradable.

Sekera was a great signing.

You still think Yak was ruined by Eakins? I think he is uncoachable. Nelson did nothing for him. Derek Roy did most the heavy lifting.
Schultz was ruined by expectations and a poor defence that forced him up the line up. Not sure how Todd Nelson was turning things around for him.

Starting from draft day ? I would have drafted Bennett over Draisaitl which would have been a mistake.

We were always going to lose a trade for a d-man... everyone knew the team was desparate.
