Point is moot. Rangers didn't go to arbitration, they don't qualify for a 2nd buyout window.

that's not true, they get the buyout window when their player files, automatically

I'm probably one of the bigger Holden supporters, but I really think they would need to see what they have in any of the youngsters before they even entertain the idea of an extension.
- mdw7413

Camp is going to be really interesting this year with the kids itching to earn a spot. As much as I like Holden, I can see him being pushed out if Graves or Day have a good camp. He might be fighting for his job as the 7th D.

This just in:

NYI realize their place in the NHL. Follow up with a sign and trade of John Tavares to the NYR for Nick Holden.

Terms of the deal for JT are 13 yrs at 5M AAV

Am I doing this right or does it need to be a 3 team deal with Bozak or Duchene in the mix?

- Maskdman3

I think the $$$ might be off since you are buying a year or two of free agency, but otherwise spot on!

you are talking about next summer
- jimbro83

Ok, so I'm getting confused now. I thought the NMC meant he can't be traded or waived without consent. Doesn't submitting a list mean the no movement clause has ended? Giving a list IS consenting to a trade to one of those teams, no?
If not, giving out these clauses is even dumber than we thought.

There are limited/modified NTC/NMCs where a player has to submit a list of X number of teams each year that they'd be willing to accept a trade to.

He gives a 15 team trade list next summer. The NMC goes away for those teams. He still has a NMC that prevents him from being sent to minors though.

I would love if they bought him out today. Truly. Bite the bullet Gorton.
