What team is dumb enough to offer sheet Edmonton with $16,828,000.00 in available cap space? Pretty sure the Vanek and Penner offer sheets were to teams that were vulnerable not quite the position Edmonton is or will ever be in. Cool story though.

Pretty sure the cap is going to rise. It is already sky rocketing with what the CAD dollar has done in the last 2 months. The cap for next year should be re analyzed IMHO. The Oilers are in a good spot cap wise for the next year and the ones after that. An offer sheet is not going to happen is my point but were it to occur it would simply be matched. What’s a few million dollars of Katz money going to Draisaitl going to do to the core of the team? Nothing. Guys like Jokinen will be signed to take the place of guys like Maroon if they think they are $6,000,000.00 players. Their stats are inflated because of McDavid and Draisaitl.

why would nj do that?would they not owe edm 4 first round picks considering the amount of money annually?at least 2 of those picks would be top 3-5 im sure,if not more

one big season or not.....leon needs to get paid.....i have no problem giving him 8mil per for 8 yrs.....injury is the only thing that will hold him from living up to it....you can just see hes a special player ...hes only gonna get better ...he works his ass off,has the winning attitude and obviously loves the idea of him and connor winning cups

Offensively or well rounded? He could consistently score more than Kopitar, Toews and Perry and score as much as Kane on average, be better at defence than Alvie or Stamkos, probably never be as good a defence man as PK or as great or as good A goalie as Lundqvist. He will never be as good as Crosby and Malkin.

I see his top end possibly being Getzlaf or Tavares like.
