True, they were on MTV, but not on HBO/etc. But both shows, when they came out, definitely pushed some boundaries.
I guess maybe Modern Family, simply because of the dynamics (homosexuals, interracial, age gaps, etc.). But that's more or a collection of things that have already been expressed. - jmatchett383
I think you can actually push the envelope more when using animation then you can using people. When something controversial comes from a cartoon character it seems less real if that makes any sense.
GM speak, whats he supposed to say? not exactly a ringing endorsement to me. The fact he didn't let them battle out to be a backup means more than his words.
The scenario is possible they ask for a trade is it not? also possible they don't sign their qualifier no? has nothing to do with leverage. - rinaldo
If they don't sign their qualifier or agree on a contract, then they remain an RFA and get no money, and if they don't sign by December 1st they have to sit out the season.
Leier didn't request a trade after this past season because he was primarily an AHL player with no leverage to do so, like Lyon and Stolarz will likely be after next season.
I personally would like to see one get a legit shot. That being said, I'm still waiting for the first GM to say this about one of his young players:
"The guy's pretty much useless, he has no shot at making the NHL in this organization. I expect him to toil endlessly at the AHL level and accept the fact that he just doesn't have NHL talent."

They are under 25 goalies without that much AHL experience and almost no NHL experience, so there was no good reason to expect Hextall to put them on the Flyers ahead of cheap veterans.
Hextall has shown he's happy to keep prospects until there's a danger of losing them for nothing. Which is why Cousins was traded right before the expansion draft. Lyon and Stolarz are on 1 year deals, buy Lyon has 2 years left of waiver exemption.
He's also shown he's happy to keep former prospects like Mark Alt around on two-way deals to provide depth for the Phantoms. - Feanor
I'm pretty sure one is gone next year. It could be Nuevy moving out with Elliot and Stolie on the Flyers. Sandstrom can play one more year in Sweden with Lyon and Hart on be Phantoms. Hexy is awesome in getting something for guys even if they won't fit here.

they can go to Europe can they not? possible make more money there. again it has nothing to do with leverage. If either one is unhappy they will do what's best for themselves. Do the flyers still have Gus's rights...
Well you said leier requested a trade did you not?

that's your opinion.
stolarz has enough of ahl experience. Is a former all star at that level.
I am not even one of those Pink Floyd people, but I love David Gilmour. Gives me all the feels - YuenglingJagr
Love his guitar. I just can't appreciate Roger Waters because of the huge jerk he is. I mean, he has a bit of a right to have the super inflated ego that he does, but he's just too pompous for me.

Like Leier, they're not demanding a trade or going to Europe. Those are fantasy scenarios you've dreamed up to try and support your arbitrary deadline for them to be on the Flyers or out of the organization.

I also can't stand musicians who inject their political beliefs into the show at a concert. Whether I agree with them or not. I paid to hear your songs, not your politics. Shut up and play!
