we both played some really good defense.

you had that one slipup that led to streit's bw and i got too aggressive once at the end that led to yours

other than that - just positionally sound hockey

- Crimsoninja

Just fyi on that breakaway in the first you gave up he lagged extravagantly hard

Do people play a lot of NHL 17 against each other?? I must admit I don't play online at all, only be a GM or be a pro.

I do wonder how well/poor I would fair against other people.

There is no right or wrong way. All goalies are different. Some develop quickly and make an impact at the NHL level at 20 or 21, seems like most however, break in at some point around 22-23 and many also don't make it to the NHL level until they are 24, 25 or even 26.

There have been goalies who broke in at 20 that have gone on to have great careers, there are also goalies who broke in at 20 that flamed out quickly were soon out of the league. Likewise, there are goalies who broke in at 25 who had great careers and others who were out of the league by the time they turned 27.

There simply is no one size fits all method of development.

I only played a few times. One time, the guy played an All Star team against me (including an all-99 player he created). The second time, with about a minute to go and losing to me, the guy quit the game.

I haven't played online since.

Yup, and going back further, you have Johnny Bower. Bower spent over a decade in the AHL back in the old 6 team days before making it to the NHL for good in 1958 at the age of 32 with Toronto. He went on to lead the Leafs, often playing in tandem with the great Terry Sawchuk, to Cup victories in 62, 63, 64 and 67. He was 42 when he won his last Cup and 44 when he retired. He won Vezina Trophies in 61 and 65 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1976.

I knew of the band (although I always get them confused with the Wallflowers) but I didn't know the name of the singer until the Santana song. I couldn't name one other person from the band.

So yes, while I knew of his band, I didn't know his name until that song came out.
