I think that is part of it. The lower leagues and fringe major leaguers...what is the downside? If you dont do it, you cant perform enough to stay to play in the big leagues, and if you get caught? well you were gone anyway

Yeah I remember that, like it was yesterday. My mom of all people woke me up to tell me that. I thought it was a dream. I woke up and asked my mom if that was real or not....That was quite upsetting.

Funny, I seem to remember a report several years back showing that hundreds of current and former MLB stars were using steroids. I guess they just did it for kicks, instead of trying to achieve top status.
