Its common for all athletes to improve as they age. Just look at Giroux. Prime example. - PLindbergh31

It's also the GM's opinion that Stolarz is better off getting more AHL experience since only played 36 games total last year. - Feanor
Just 36 games, huh? And under the age of 25 you say?
I say he plays ten more seasons in the ahl, no less than 700 starts. Let's get him up here by age 36. |

Same here, I first checked in now, and wish I was here for it.
I have the guitars of SRV, Dimebag and Zakk Wylde tattooed on my arm. Still love SRV and Dimebag...Zakk has dwindled a bit, mostly because of his last few albums, but I did get the tattoo 12 years ago and he was still trying to write new material back then. - VladDrag

Love Dimebag and Zakk. Still remember that nutjob taking out Dimebag while I was in high school. |

Re Bonds and anyone juicing: I don't care what performance enhancing drugs athletes want to take as long as they are the ones willingly taking them and willing to deal with the negative side effects during use and later in life. If someone cares that much about their athletic career in the grand scheme of their entire life to risk their long term health, more power to them as far as I'm concerned. |

I do agree, in a way. My issue is that, in order to keep up, it puts pressure on other players to do it, and it also shows kids what they need to do to become mega stars. Whether it's due to winning, making more $$, etc. , you see guys juicing and think, "If I want to be on the same level as them, I should do this too." |

This is my thought as well. I can't see them eating the penalty for four years if they did it in 2018 - MBFlyerfan
I think, with 50% retention, they would be able to move him prior to his last season. I'd rather deal with the one year of 2.5 million in dead space then have that 2nd year of 1.9 in 20-21. Especially when you figure that Patrick, Myers and Lindblom will be off their ELC's that year and you will have just re-signed Provorov, Sanheim and Konecny the previous season.

Sure, but if the league they play in bans them, well, it's cheating and they should be barred for life. |

Yup, and Jake and Giroux will both likely still be here and eating 16.525 of the cap as well. It really makes more sense to swallow the 2.5 during 19-20 than to stretch it out and deal with the 1.9 in 20-21.

But dude...a soon-to-be 40-year-old "offensive" defenseman with no speed, an extreme drop-off in offensive production, and complete lack of a defensive game just signed a 1-year deal at $700K. How ever could any defenseman who isn't a surefire HOFer be worth any more? |

It's okay to use steroids, as long as you don't get caught using a corked bat while on steroids. |

Anyone know how it would affect the Flyers if the Flyers were to trade Mac and retain salary at some point and then he was bought out by another team on the last year of his deal? - pinkfloydfreak
If he can stay healthy during camp then once other teams D get injured and whatnot he can be traded away with no retention.

No, they don't. They allow your muscles to heal quicker, allowing you to increase power (or, at the very least, not fatigue it over a season). He's an absolutely amazing baseball player. He was going to go down as a top-10 all-time player. The fact that he knowingly took a banned substance to enhance his game in order to solidify his spot in baseball is equal to what Pete Rose did, in my book.
He said something to the effect of it being important that the top-2 career home run leaders were black, as I remember it. That never say well with me. - jmatchett383
He also made some quasi antisemitic remarks. |

He has 107 total AHL games played and is 23 years old.
Corey Crawford had 277 before he became a full time NHL player at age 25.
Jimmy Howard had 216 before he became a full time NHL player at age 25. |
