He has a 50% roster turn over from what was the team last year vs what will be on this teams opening night roster.

I have made this point before. Taking Cody McLeod, Jon Mitchell, Andres Martinsen, Iginla, Rene Bourque, Francios Beauchemin off the roster, and adding guys like Yakupov, Wilson, Andrighetto, Neito, Barberio, Mirinov, Jost, Compher...etc. Sure some of those guys played 20 games or so for them last year but bc they added guys at the trade deadline that they liked, thats still moving in a direction to fix this. Moving from Old and Slow to speed and youth

Again just bc people dont know who the players they are trying to promote from their own prospect pool, doesnt mean they havent done anything. It might not seem like a big upgrade, but unless you watched last season, its hard to really understand how bad the old guys were and as soon as they started to bring in some speed young guys in, how much more enjoyable they were to watch

Making bad trades and UFA signings in an effort to "refresh a roster" is far worse than trying their own prospect pool first. Thats why they are drafting and developing, so you dont have to sign UFAs to fill roster spots

It was McKenzie and Friedman that said that he pulled to rug on other teams, idc if you want to blame snow go ahead he blows too

I think we have to wait and see what the outcome is on the Duchene situation upstate.

Right now obviously no one is giving Sakic what he wants or he would have pulled the trigger, whether the gM's think what they offered was what he was looking for it wasn't.

Now if the season starts and a couple teams struggle, and they need to add what Duchene can bring that team then Sakic may get his ask. If not then maybe he doesn't, but patients imho may be the best way for him to go versus pulling the trigger on a deal he doesn't want.

I'm sure he will play but if he wasn't into it last year where will he be after being offered all last year and offseason? At some point teams will say keep him and let him walk for way less or nothing

THere has been so much crap floating aroudn twitter with a life of its own when it has come to the trade talks.

Portz says he has heard Murrays name in duchene trade talks, and there was LOLorado getting Murray as the center piece in a trade.

Dreger says he Thinks Avs might have asked for Eckholm, and people go nuts. Just too much read and reacting to whispers about stuff instantly becoming Reports.

Sakic has been very very cautious in this process and he hasnt been the perfect GM, but its crazy how much hate he is getting

I would think the team that trades for him would ask for permission to discuss a new contract our extension with Duchene and his agent before they give away a ton for him. Unlike Snow and his Vanek trade

Those are rumors and I don't believe them. Half the shat we read is feed to them purposely to skew the truth or the perception that one side wants out in public.

If he lowers his price it will be known league wide and the same Whore gM's that want Duchene will start to negotiate with him again imho. If they believe he is a piece they want they will be right back a Sakic's door.

Again let it play out because no one has the answers or a crystal ball to see the future.

Those were the Avs pieces they wanted but Snow didnt want to give up DeHaan or Beauvillier (Snow didnt want to move Barzal or Pulock either) ...why the Hamonic and a 1st stuff came out.

When Sather came to the Rags I believe it took him 6 years to make the PO's, So I guess Garth is as good as him as well? Difference is he eventally built the team he wanted and won a cup. They have also been pretty consistent as far as being in the PO's. Poile retooled the Preds and built the team they are today and have progressed, Can you say the same about Snows Islanders?
