Don't matter if you buy it or not…'if' it's true it could be an issue. Vrbata did play a lot of his first year with the Sedins. Eriksson was moved out as the coach panicked after 6 games with them. Bottom line is we truly don't know what GM's promise players before the coach sets the rosters…it is what it is.

Fans here will go batsh!t crazy no matter what happens true dat.

Well to each their own, it does matter if you buy in, because if you buy in you (not you in the literal sense) are just exactly what 1040 wants as their fan base. It's BS, even if JB said you can play 40 minutes a night, PP1, PK1, have the keys to Aquilines suite, his wife, the Bentley, it's all a sales job, the player signs, either lives up to expectations or not.

I don't think the coach panicked at all with Eriksson, he didn't perform and was moved. If he panicked after six games, why didn't he try it again after the crap was falling out the backend....because he wasn't producing and didn't deserve sweet d!ck all.

It's a weird line for MB to take given everything he's done the past 3 years, but 6m x 2 is a bit rich Andrei
- BobBot

Again, if they have the space and really want to win now it's a little rich but doable.

I think 89 and MDZ were sold on "there's a lot of room too contribute and play a big role if you play well." If you're a guy looking to get paid big in the future, you the minutes/deployment imo

Right. Management represents opportunities and what they are willing to pay for the player to do it. It's up to the player to prove it. Coach sometimes effects that by deployment choices or game plans. But the player has to find a way to get through and contribute.

So Benning doesn't use the swedish country club as a selling point?

There should be lots of room to play on the top 9 . We were horrible the last two years , no spot should be secured.

I get what you are saying....up to a point. I chat with many an NHL'er here at my pro camps at my Arena in the summers and many claim what they get from MNGT and Coaching are two very different things. I get the fact that it is mostly performance based as it should be...but if people on here are naïve enough to think there is no back door stuff going on well...they may wanna find a different hobby to blog on. I'm not saying it's 100% accurate...but I'm willing to accept that it does happen to a certain extent.

As for WD I will respectfully say that I do think he panicked a bit and it showed a little of his inexperience last season. Instead of leaving Eriksson on the Sedin line to actually get some chemistry going and play out of his slump(s)...he bounced him all over the lines to a point where he could never get comfortable. Pretty hard to perform when you have different linemates every 6th game. Man it was starting to look like a John Gibbons Blue Jay Roster where he changes the lineup card every game. No way the players can get in to comfort levels when they have no clue where they are hitting every game and I think this had much to do with LE's performance levels last season. I'm hoping Green uses LE 'properly' and we will see results.

I know this is a dead horse and all but we had to know we were in trouble with WD when he had Bro Hovat (our best player from the past half of the previous season) starting on a line with Burrows and Dorsett. Many here defended it but it was one of the stupidest coaching moves I had ever seen...and I have defended WD a lot in the past. I just wish that WD would have kept Eriksson on the Sedin line longer to build chemistry and play out of his slump. Considering all of the line-juggling done after the 10th or 12th game of last season I have to say that WD 'may' have been panicking a bit...but a lot of it was also just blatant coaching inexperience that the NHL level.

OR... it could just be that the team just sucked and no coach, experienced or not was going to be able to save that dumpster fire. Let's face it, save for Granlund, Bo, Baertschi and Hansen (until he was traded at TDL) we had no offense, the Twins weren't going to be able to make anyone productive last year, let alone Eriksson whether or not he stayed there, and plus, when they were together, that line was so slow that if Henrik or Daniel lost the puck, the other team practically had scored a goal by the time they all turned around and skated back into the play.

I won't defend WD for some of the dumb decisions he made, especially with being unwilling to at least change up the PP or starting Bo on the fourth line, but I don't blame him for trying everything to see if it worked when he was on the hot seat and trying to save his job. Nothing was going to prevent the tire fire that the team became over the year, all an experienced coach would have done is put lipstick on the pig.

I thought his dumbest move was when he changed the line the very next game after Bo Sven and JV scored 9 points in a game.
