Thats the hilarious part.
Did people really think that somehow they trained a great white to wait for a starters pistol and then swim in a straight line. - mdw7413
I can see the headlines now "Great White disqualified from race after it eats Michael Phelps"

Great White eats Michael Phelps, is afflicted with a case of the munchies, and then takes out three additional crew members and 372 party size bags of Doritos. |

Let’s trade Nash before TDL for proven youth. - NO. You'd rather get nothing?
Keep Lundqvist, untill he demands playing time that he doesn’t deserve anymore. - Hank will retire a ranger. Agree with you, it would be his call, not managment
Trade Staal for anything with zero to little salary retention depending on the return. - they already tried that. no one wants him. Impressed you have those facts
Trade Grabner at TDL for a pick. - Why? he had a great season last year, may have another great season. He most likely will and then will have out priced himself to be a Ranger.
Let Desharnais walk asap. - They literally just signed him. I shouldn't have put asap, I meant for 2018.
Sign Holden now to two more years, to make him a better trade asset. - because a longer contract makes a player a "better asset" - see Staal, Marc. Marc Staal is not comparable in $ or terms. You def get more for a player at TDL if they aren't set to be an UFA in a few months.
Extend Miller/Hayes/Vesey/Skeji asap before they have better than expected stats this year. - the rangers dont sign most players long term before they bridge them. Skjei may be an exception. They are RFAs after this year, they should be trying to sign them to a club friendly deal starting 7/1 oppose to hours before arbitration, like I said before in case they have better than expected years (I think they all will).
Bring in DeAngelo, Andersson, Bereglazov, Pionk/Day, Shestyorkin to the big club. - Shestoyorkin cant come over for another 2-3 years, he is signed with a KHL team. See Antipin, and Sobotka
As I said earlier, sign Tavares. - i would put the chances JT signs with the rangers at remote. i think he signs with the islanders. I hope you are wrong.
Sign Turris and Kane as UFA in 2018. - What makes you think either of those players make it to UFA? Turris payday maybe too much for Sens, and Kane has been rumored out for his entire NHL career, thats my only reasoning.
Trade Vesey/Hayes and Day/Pionk for a high scoring winger (Skinner) - Vesey/Hayes are high scoring wingers....Vesey had 16 goals and Hayes is a center who had 17 goals. Skinner had more than both combined. - alwaysjoeking
I have a question for YOU.
Do you think that Ryan McDonagh will be re-signing for the same 4.7 million a year contract when he becomes a UFA in summer of 2019?

Why are we getting nothing for Nash? he can give us around 30 goals and then resign for a discount. Nash at around $4.5 or $5M on a 2-3 year deal i would do in a heart beat.
Larry Brooks has mentioned tons of times that noone wants Staal.
If we lose grabner for nothing - owell, he cost us almost nothing.
they will not resign DD - i actually doubt he plays often this year. I would prefer Boo play 4C
on Holden the question you failed to ask is - what message does that send to other players that sign with the team and then are moved a few months later. you forget these are humans and have families.
We are not getting a SKinner - the ask on players like that are not worth it. I would rather 2 players than 1. spread the risk of injury, poor performance, etc. depth is key. you cant have 1 line of superstars and crap after.

unlikely. McD is the unknown. does he do another hometown discount or does he want market value? there is a BIG difference. Market value is prob close to $7.5M or even $8M seeing what top line Dmen are going for. I would love McD to resign around $6M, that would be a good raise for him and also save us huge money. I fear them moving Step may have cost them some money on McD though. |

Larry Brooks has mentioned tons of times that noone wants Staal. Brooks isn't exactly reliable. And it depends on what we were asking for back
If we lose grabner for nothing - owell, he cost us almost nothing. Great point,
but return on investment is neccessary for a yearly contending club
they will not resign DD - i actually doubt he plays often this year. I would prefer Boo play 4C. I'm with you!
on Holden the question you failed to ask is - what message does that send to other players that sign with the team and then are moved a few months later. you forget these are humans and have families. A sign and trade is not unheard of, and if they are willing to take less money then you can discuss NTC.

I would rather 2 players than 1. spread the risk of injury, poor performance, etc. depth is key. you cant have 1 line of superstars and crap after. The ask is very high, and not worth it for teams that get goals through high draft picks, but for us we have to pay. The risk of injury and poor performance is an excellent point, but that could be made for any 30+ goal scorer, high risk, high reward. - richardson30

Skjei at best gets a McD type bridge 3 years 3.9 per. Adjusted for inflation 4.5 per.
Lundqvist will be 37 going into 2019, who knows what happens with him, but I understand wanting to assume he'll be on the books at full cap.
Tavares will get around 10 mil I'm guessing.
Turris is at 3.5 now, he'll get about 5 depending on term
Kane should expect a decrease in Salary, put at about 4.5 depending on term
Lose, DD, Hayes/Vesey, Nash, Staal (at least half), Grabner, Holden Salary. It works out. |

Turris is going to get top line Center money. i expect $7M at least. some team will WAY overpay for him. Hank will play until he cant anymore. it will not be a gradual slip. i expect it to be like Marty Biron. one day you think he is ok, the next he is letting 5 goals in on 5 shots and its all over. |

Yes, He'll know when his time is up, Managment wont have to tell him. I do think if we are playing Shestyorkin for 40-50 games and he's a stud, there is a possibility Hank might want more playing time elsewhere. That would be organic, not forced. |

Very true, and possibly losing both Hayes and Vesey and Day and Poink, And who knows what the Cap will be.
This is all speculation especially when handing out FA contracts and trying to figure out the Money. It's not like I'm saying lets take on JT, Voreck, Ovechkin and Tarasenko. |
