Oh snap, when DH was actually hip, cool and relevant... for about 2 seasons and then he turned back into the gay underwear soap opera model he is.

I didn't know you were still on the Nashville bandwagon?

Been a fan of Nashville for years, doesn't diminish my love for the Canucks, only reason I support Nashville is because I am a seasons ticket holder for the Rockets and lots of Rockets were drafted by the Preds, most notably Shea Weber, Cody Franson and Colton Sissons.

What are Merkley's chances this year are of making the Yote's line up?

Probably pretty good if he has a good training camp, now that Tippet is gone and Doan isn't coming back there's a spot open. Next to Lind, he was the best player on a so-so Rockets team that's lost most of their name players from their last appearance in the Mem Cup.

I really thought my Cougars were poised to make a run. Bastards sh!t the bed in the first round.

So if Merkley is pretty good for this Yotes camp, why, next to best Lind is 5 years away from making Canucks? Remember you said he needs to do a couple years in AHL to work out what's missing in his game.

Merkley is 20, Lind is 18... the Coyotes also don't have a logjam of prospects in the forward position competing for spots. Merkley also is better defensively than Lind owing to having a couple of development/pro training camps under his belt. Also I said his chances are good, it's not a guarantee. He's still a HELL of a lot closer than Lind

Take your pick.

If you cut any of the Megna, Gaunce, Rodin, Biega, or Wiercioch for a 23 man roster on opening night Management doesn't have to worry about losing them. If any of these players go on waivers I seriously doubt any of them get claimed and if they do who gives a (frank). Scraps and fringe players anyway.

Depth means quality, not quantity!

I cant see Weircioch getting cut, hes been normally a plus player except in Colorado last season, and who wasnt a train wreck on that team last year. Hes got size aswell, I cant see 2 people in the system beating him for that spot, maybe Pedan thats it

Yes, all the coaching staff think he's ready for the NHL, or if not, he'll be first call-up for the Coyotes. He's smooth as butter skating, great shot and hands, if not for Lind having an exceptional year he might have been Kelowna's best forward. For next year's draft, I'm keeping an eye on Gardiner, Mattison, and their goalie Salmond who had 3 SOs and a slightly better GAA and comparable .SVG than Herringer

My team is pretty much being dismantled. It was their year and they blew it. We loaded up on players. Most of which were overages and we were already full of over agers. Great hockey to watch all season though. I was really happy with their season regardless.

Right and it starts from camp where several (like 7) roster spots will be battled out. With improved depth all the way to Utica holding more accountable throughout the line up.

I'd like to see rookie coach Green have the balls to sit or demote vets who aren't performing for whatever reason. Shelf the stale for the hungry prospect.

Sorry AHL fodder til injuries occur & even at that maybe not.
Depth only & we need offense.

Yeah, honestly, I watch CHL hockey more than I do NHL (until the playoffs, then I switch)

I like seeing the development of young players through a season. Other than 1 or 2 games of live NHL games a season the W is the only live hockey I watch.

True they award better players with positions.
